I can't speak towards your memory. I don't remember one either other than some appearances of tracks a bit before on comps. That 1974 date is clearly stated in wikipedia. May be wrong. It may be referring to a Japanese release as well, as it notes CBS/Sony, but does reference Teo as producer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1958_Miles -
“Classic V-Disc Small Group Jazz Sessions” Mosaic Records 11 cd set, disc V Hot jazz with some sultry Martha Tilton (really never paid much attention to her before this set!) and then a lot of great solo Art Tatum.

A warmer morning, Fiona the dachshund has her appetite back this morning, which is re-assuring. I stood and listened to an owl for a few minutes. Love this plot of land across from the forest. I’m breaking in a new pair of output tubes (Shuguang Black Treasure 300B-Z) and put on this old favorite to hear what condition the condition is in. A few more full days of power on before the tubes are really broken in. Antonio Carlos Jobim “Stone Flower” (CTI RVG King Jazz Japan SHM-CD) 1500×1500 91.2 KB

Classic V-Disc Small Group Jazz #279 – 11 CDs

I'm not sure what is up with that inclusion, maybe the booklet will explain, maybe not. Peanuts was an interesting fellow, I met him in San Antonio on the Riverwalk hanging with Jim Cullum's band, he was having fun! -
Classic V-Disc Small Group Jazz #279 – 11 CDs

Okay I looked at it closely as I can while my wife is blaring the Browns game, and editorializing, and there are more unissued takes not included on this set than included. . . some of the included are spoken introductions and interesting sound check tracks. I am not sure of the entire reasoning, I have not had (and won't for a while) time to go through the booklet. Those tracks that ARE included that were previously issued appear to be alternates to issued tracks mostly if not all. So that may be the reasoning. If one performance was issued and there is an unissued alternate, they include it. Which is good. Likely the driving motivation is to keep the set to 11 cds and not more, the reason other sessions were not included as well. I won't miss the missing Waller as it is elsewhere in the collection. -

Well I think their logic makes sense to me. If they were never issued as a V-Disc, they are not V-Discs. They are consistent in this set in not including "unissued" items. And are you disputing their claim that the "Silvery Moon" item came from a radio broadcast? I have all the JSP volumes (as well as all the King Jazz) and don't fel I need to have these on this Mosaic set following their logic. -
