Absolutely.

T-Bone is the source. What a man. Jean-Marie, yeah that's a nice JIP reissue. I hadn't heard those cds before. I really only know him from the interesting work he did with Barney Wilen. May have to see if there's more to find. . . .

I feel like... It is what it is. The only real objection I have is on many of these CD's, the sound quality. Some are so bad, I can't listen to them. Thanks for the response!

Which Mosaic Are You Enjoying Right Now?

Love the Lee sessions. Man, great stuff. -
Saw the new movie last night again, this time with my gal. She's the perfect movie companion, she jumps and is shocked exactly when the diretor wants her to be. And she's a lot of fun in other ways. . . we're like teens together. She really liked it. A lot. It was fun for me to see second time around. Still had my same "problem" with the story line/direction. We'll see what they do with this next. Do you think Abrams plans . . . a tv show?

I'm watching the new Blu-Ray version of Star Trek, Season One. Wow Incredible picture. You can watch either as originally broadcast, or the newer "enhanced versions." I think I'll just watch the original broadcast version. To my eyes, looks less modern, but looks better. Audio. . . well it's quite dynamic but a bit frustrating for those using low powered, non-compressing stereo equipment. The dialogue is low, effects and orchestrated musical tracks louder. You can fix this pretty much by using the audio controls in the player.

I can suggest better uses for your time too, but I'll refrain. The board is poorer without Allen. I hope he returs soon.

Bev, How do you feel about the releases coming from Europe of live material from the sixties and beyond (not in the "fifty year copywrite" period) or the material that is legal to sell in Europe and not within the US? It would be interesting to hear your perspective. I confess that I've bought a few lately, one of the band with Burton and one of the band with Corea and Williams. This is material I would buy again in an "official", endorsed edition, indeed.

I've never seen the film Mickey One. But Sauter wrote very intriguing music that really seemed to make Getz dig in and face the challenge. He did.

Famous Indian composer collaborates with Jazz masters
jazzbo replied to shriyan5678's topic in New Releases
Bollywood sountrack composer. Me too. Like his dad, a really unique voice and phrasing. Plays wonderful flute too. -
Beethoven. I mean really discovering him. Something clicked for me in regards to his music when i was at my parents' for a few weeks last month and I've followed through with some listening.

Cool. I'll look for it in cut out bins.

I didn't even know there was a Japan SACD. I can't say which are the hardest as I haven't been seeking this series out. I enjoy the ones I have, but actually prefer other masterings. I dare to be different.

Yesterday I listened to Mickey One yet one more time. I like that one, it gets panned, but there's great music there.

Then you really shouldn't post anything in the thread, unless it's recommendations for Stan Getz recordings. If you're not willing to say anything on why you think it's sad for the board the thread is gone, why post that you think it's sad for the board that the thread is gone in the first place??? If the person who started the thread has no problem with it being deleted and the owner of the forum saw it as correct to delete it, then the matter is closed. Now back to discussing the many recordings of Stan Getz that some of us have or may wish to get. One reason I didn't say more. . . .Maybe I was being polite and didn't want to say something bad about you. You were rubbing your hands with glee that you felt Allen was chided by Bev. I didn't like your attitude. I haven't liked the way you provoke Allen. ? Other reasons: I felt that it was a bad precedent for the board and that it may be a deterrent to real discussion. I think I agree with oneofanotherkind and I think Chuck. There was much to learn on that thread. I am sad Bev felt the way she did, and she had the right to say why she did, and there was a lesson to learn in there that is now gone, not to be learned by new others. And there was the sort of discussion there that can't be found elsewhere, and it's sad that that type of discussion, open and gloves off, may be limited by the thread's deletion. I did not see (I don't think) the complete thread, the final posts.

That's not at all uncommon online with titles before release. -
Yes, that's what it is, and yes they light up. You can bypass, you can have moderate distortion or you can have the tubes so overloaded they complain. You can mix wet and dry. Etc. Sound samples here: http://damagecontrolusa.com/products/liquid-blues/ Class A Crunch Gorgeous and subtle dual 12AX7 tube crunch. Dynamic and flexible class A gain structure. From subtle blues to heavy crunch with a twist of the drive knob. Studio quality opto-compressor based on a classic circuit. Dial in your dynamics simply and easily. High order multi-stage treble control for detailed high end response. Clarity control sends a parallel clean signal through your liquid blues allowing a unique mix of clean and dirty. A secret technique of the pros for years. 10dB of additional footswitchable gain via “nuclear” footswitch. Remote switchable via standard TRS cable and remote switching controller. Superior Analog Performance True Bypass. No compromise relay true bypass for zero loss bypass signal performance. NO tonal degradation. Premium low noise signal path. Dual 12AX7s run at their full 250V plate voltage. No starving plates here.

I've got the original LP's. Both sound fine. Don't blame the original engineers because the hacks at Charly couldn't get it right! While I agree that these may not reside at the top of either leader's discography, they are decent sessions with plenty of worthwhile music. I didn't intend the blame to fall anywhere but on Charly.

I don't think it's not working at all, but rather in part inertia, and in large part my amazing (in my opinion) girlfriend that keeps me out of trouble. I've been really enoying playing my Les Paul and Tele caster through the Damage Control "Liquid Blues" preamp/overdrive "pedal" lately. Man, it really can make the cabinet melt if you dial it up, or it can add a nice grimey grit.
