  1. I'm glad it's over. I liked it when it first appeared, but tired of it soon enough. Pretty amazing that ABC brought it back to life. . . and then quickly snuffed it.
  2. I personally have no reason to doubt what youmustbe says and from what I've read between the lines I would believe it to be true. As you say, we get sanitized stories. I know (even just shallowly) a few people "of note" or "of import" and I know them to be crusty and/or many things that aren't "clean and safe." I don't mind keeping it real.
  3. Lots of Muddy Waters' songs were really written by Morgan McKinleyfield.
  4. Don't think so. Haven't seen the Unusuals (not really a fan of animated movies) but. . . I don't think so. Started watching Lois and Clark, Season 4
  5. That's how he was in Austin as well. I'll never forget his pacing all over the stage, shrunken somewhat but full of energy and love of playing.
  6. Really should add a little refried beans for the real experience. AND to get that corn-bean protein going if you're using corn tortillas. Now I'm hungry.
  7. Those old films don't do much for me. And to be honest Jim, no I wouldn't Kelly. I'm very "satisfied" these days and she's very far from my type. Alexander, I like my women curvier and curvier. . .but haven't gotten that far along the path yet.
  8. Tessa B. Dick, "The Owl in Daylight."
  9. I've only called them once, ever!
  10. With our luck they'll come out as 128 kps MP3s for 20 buck each.
  11. Me either. As far as skinny tv starlets go, I"m a big Eva Longoria fan. I'm sure she would annoy many. . .but I don't think she'd annoy me.
  12. Jay, thanks for the headsup on the Vi Velasco; nice lp!
  13. Nice guitars, though I'm not sure I'd like Tolex or Mother of Pearl top finishes. Kind of Gibson, kind of Gretsch. Good idea to have a nice P90 and a nice Humbucker both on a guitar.
  14. Sounds like you got it down. Should be good eatin'. . . . . Don't let any of the butter spatter on Rosario.
  15. I just have the old one of Heavy Weather. I really don't listen to that album much, having heard it so much in the seventies and eighties. I think the mastering is "okay" on the first one. Would buy a new one if I could.
  16. Many many more happy returns!
  17. I'm sure there's just the old mastering.
  18. I'm retrogressing. . .watching Miller movies made me do it.
  19. Glad you were there Mike! Dave Laczko and I almost made it to see your group Saturday night. I have never heard of Sonny singing the blues before. . . I feel we had a special treat. Like you I was happy to see Sonny, and see him with this great group, which had a bouyant groove that is very different from a lot of what I have heard from Sonny. I'm so glad we got to see this; it had to be an exceptional night. By the way, Sonny said that the last time he was in Austin was at the Armadillo. . .but that's not true, he was here in the nineties.
  20. Saw Sonny Rollins yesterday at Bass Hall, UT Austin. Sonny Rollins was great. We even got to hear the unamplified sound of Sonny's horn at the beginning of the show. . . his mike was not working or not turned on or something. Sure didn't expect that bonus, the sound of Sonny's horn unamplified, in the air. Wonderful! He was in a great bouyant mood and the whole show just bounced. Bobby Broom was excellent. "Don't Stop the Carnival" never sounded so good to me. And then . . . for an encore. . . Sonny came out and sang the blues. He . . . sang the blues. I still don't really believe it. But he did, oh yes he did.

  22. Monk. Nobody does it better.
