  1. I have placed a few orders from Tower (which is basically caiman) in August. It took about two to three weeks to receive the items ordered, but everything I ordered was received. I couldn't tell you if the card was charged before shipping or not, I didn't pay attention actually. . . . Anyway, I had no problems other than a wait for the goods, and that was not a problem for me.
  2. Amen Paul. Those are fascinating words. I love "The Peaceful Side" pictured above. Swee'pea is a favorite of mine. . . .Hope you had a great afterlife birthday William!
  3. Many many more happy happy returns!
  4. This is going to be a "Transparency" release. . . .
  5. I believe Hans is looking for NON DSD titles. . . (?)
  6. Looks as if the Hampton Mosaic is SHIPPING!
  7. Yo! Troy in da house! (Stupid white guy imitation). Welcome back and hang around ok?
  8. Many many more happy returns!
  9. I believe (going from memory here, away from my collection, at work) that both these sessions were originally released in a two lp set under Booker Ervin's name entitled "Back from the Gig."
  10. Quadrophenia . . . Perhaps the most successful work by the Who in my opinon! Different strokes for different folks!
  11. Sorry to hear about this RT. I think there is some solace in "It could have been worse." Sometimes (trust me I know) you don't get the option to say that to yourself. . . .
  12. Don't forget the date with Miles and Bags - best heard in the Monk/Prestige K2 box. I did let that slip my mind. Al still should get the "Plays Duke Ellington". . .it's a marvelous record in my opinion.
  13. There's not a whole lot of official possibilities of Klook and Monk. . . . "Plays Duke Ellington" is the obvious choice, and it's a fantastic release in either the K2 or the new Keepnews versions.
  14. I really dig Blakey with Monk but he's not my favorite. My favorite is Frankie Dunlop. An amazing drummer and I love what he did in Monk's quartet whenever he had the chair. I agree that Klook is great with Monk too (but then I feel about Klook the way that Al feels about Bu!)
  15. Sorry to hear of Shadow. I remember so clearly how I felt when I lost Spot. Now I just have my original cat, Marjorie Bouvier Haggerty-Armstrong, seventeen years old, doing well considering, ruling my house.
  16. You got lucky!
  17. It's a pressing problem most likely. Final tracks skip and/or don't play.
  18. Amazon.com has deluxe versions of Who's Next and Tommy on sale at a quite nice price right now.
  19. John, the very first four tracks of Disc A of Volume 3, piano solos, are NOT included in the King Jazz series. All the other tracks ARE included in the King Jazz series 1-5.
  20. I have all the King Jazz cds. I decided about six months ago to try out the JSP. This is a more complete series by far, and has better sound than the King Jazz cds. (I love the King Jazz series though, which fueled my first real obsession with Fats, I'd heard quite a bit of Fats before those but didn't really "have to hear him" then).
  21. I'm not really a fan of the Beatles. I really like Ringo as a drummer.
  22. At the moment, yes, I'm more flush than I've ever been in my life, and I wish I weren't.
  23. I discovered I never did order the Horace Parlan set (have all the material on separate cds) so I ordered that this week and am enjoying it now.
