As far as earbuds go, the Sennheiser MX400 or MX500 (same with volume control) are a great deal. I use the MX500 every day with my MP3 player, which means they are very durable too (except for the foam covers which need to be replaced regulalrly). It's the best earbuds I have ever heard, but I haven't tried the true audiophile models from Shure or Etymotics. http://www.rojakpot.com/default.aspx?locat...var1=215&var2=0

Given the probable demise of both hi-rez formats in the near future (SACD could survive on the classical market though). it doesn't rellay matter which one is better. Both sound better than CD, and most hifi fans will be happy with any of the hi-rez formats. A big advantage for the user is indeed that DVD-As can be made on a home computer. But what many people don't like with DVD-A (apart the evident lack of titles) is the fact that one needs to navigate on the TV screen before listening to music. SACD works just like a CD in this respect. Put the disc into the player and push Play.

1st round: Gilles Müller (LUX) - Andy Roddick 7:6, 7:6, 7:6 Roddick suffers stunning defeat Gilles Muller of Luxembourg caused a huge upset by defeating Andy Roddick in the first round of the US Open at Flushing Meadows on Tuesday. Roddick, who won the title in 2003, went into the featured night-session match as an overwhelming favourite. But former world junior champion Muller had the measure of the American, dominating the big-serving encounter to win 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (10-8) 7-6 (7-1). Muller will play Robby Ginepri or Guillermo Garcia-Lopez next. "I don't really remember a loss where I've felt this bad afterwards," said Roddick after his defeat. "I've never felt better going into a (grand) slam than I did here. This has totally blindsided me. I felt like I was going to have a pretty good run. "I love playing here. I probably had the best practice week I've ever had." Muller, who was playing at Flushing Meadows for the first time, believes his relaxed approach to his encounter with Roddick was the key to his win. "I have no idea (how I did it)," Muller said afterwards of the victory on his U.S. Open debut. "For me it was just unbelievable to come out here. I told myself to just enjoy it and I did it every minute." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/4199560.stm

$100 is definitely too much for this set. $60 would be ok, $40 is a great deal (I'm in too )

Proper Box, Mosaic and Eldridge set Question
Claude replied to tranemonk's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
I haven't noticed a sound problem with the few Definitive sets I have, but they are not technically great recordings anyway: Charlie Parker Savoy studio and live (4CDs each), Fats Navarro (Blue Moon label), Dizzy Gillespie (Complete Bluebird & Musicraft Recordings & The Pleyel Concert). They sound like straight dubs from previous CD reissues. The Benny Goodman Carnegie Hall reissue by Definitive is said to be the best sounding version, but I haven't heard it myself. -

Does anybody remeber Phil Hartman in the "All Drug Olympics" from SNL? The weight lifting sketch where he pulled his own arms off? Phil Hartman was playing a weightlifter who was on every performance enhancing drug you could imagine. ← http://snltranscripts.jt.org/88/88aupdate.phtml -

But it is also not likely to be more than $12 per disc, given that it is a "monotonous" box set, with several concerts of the same band playing the same material. The similar Blackhawk 4CD set goes for $11.25/disc (list price). http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00009KU7L/ So I think the Amazon price for the Cellar Door box ($18.33/CD) is just an error.

Hey, that's a good point. But it's not sure if the CDs are longer than 60 minutes, because Sony put entire sets on the CDs We also don't know if the european Sony pressings will be copyprotected. They haven't been in the past.

A "gay german" sounds even better for a british tabloid. The other news sources, who took over the story from the Daily Mirror, mostly omitted the irrelevant fact that he is gay.

Trouble ahead for Lance Armstrong

As the Monde article says, EPO was used by many racers in 1998/99 and could not be detected at that time. If laboratories checked more racer's urine samples they would find many traces of EPO and not only Armstrong would be convicted of doping. In fact, the "clean" athletes were a minority back then. But as the headline indicates, it is more about Armstrong's continous lie on this subject, and not about sanctions. Edit: message was written before reading brownie's reply. -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nica_de_Koenigswarter I think that would also vary a lot on the country. Her husband was french, but the name looks to be of dutch origin. The dutch pronounce the "oe" in Koenigswarter as "oo", but the french and most other people would say "Ø" or just "o". http://french.about.com/library/pronunciat...-ipa-vowels.htm

They are also meant to play on a computer, but cannot be copied on a computer. I haven't read much on this new Sony copyprotection scheme, but previous systems like EMI's Cactus Datashield also created many playability problems on devices where the CDs are meant to be used normaly, like on DVD players and car CD players. So it is not only a nuisance for those who want to copy the music (on CD-R or just onto their portable player).

I have made 5 or 6 orders at deepdiscountcd in the last 3 years, all were more or less succesful. Sometimes individual items were cancelled or were sent later (without additional shipping charge). I made these orders because the CDs were hard to find or significantly cheaper than elsewhere. Overall I prefer CD Universe, for it's reliability and ease of use, like the possibility to cancel or combine orders.
