  1. Just when you think they're done adding new acts, THIS shows up!
  2. Radiohead spinoff. I'm not a big fan of theirs, but there are some interesting cuts on this album.
  3. That definitely looks interesting. I enjoyed his early years recordings.
  4. Saw the great Vijay Iyer, Tyshawn Sorey & Linda May Han Oh at SFJAZZ tonight
  5. Not the greatest band he ever put together, but his guitar playing in the London set is about as fiery as I've ever heard him. Also his last "rock" band before his style changed on Blow by Blow.
  6. Real Gone Music has a great sale on several Black Jazz titles
  7. An album that deserved wider recognition
  8. Guaranteed to be excellent!
  9. Sounds like the Oticon setup is very similar to Widex as far as replaceable domes, wax guards and ability to make minimal adjustments through the App.
  10. For those interested in the photo and would like to see other photos taken that same day, then this book is essential
  11. My Widex App has several different settings which were based on my chart. I can also create my own custom settings with a very basic equalizer in the App. None of them are perfect, for sure, but I really notice the difference when I don't have them in. Sound is MUCH duller.
  12. I bought this when it first came out in 2008. Didn't listen much - more interesting as an historical artifact of the time and place than great music. I got this version when it was released, too, because I they found the OG tape and there are more tracks. Haven't listened to it at all, though.
  13. Sullivan Fortner solo piano performance. Very impressive! I saw him supporting Cecile McLoren Salvant last year, and he was very good, but solo is a different animal.
  14. Thanks for the heads-up! I'll try to get to the Make-Out on Tuesday. Is that a solo show or with his quartet?
  15. You should enjoy it. The pod is called "Spotlight On". Episode is from Aug 1. "Ches Smith & Shara Lunon: dismantling musical conventions" Here's the Apple Podcast link: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/spotlight-on/id1497338311?i=1000664007805
  16. HaHa ... In this case you have to see it. It's a show like no other. Ches can be pretty intense sometimes. I heard a podcast with him recently. Learned a lot about his background that I didn't know.
  17. I saw Cobra a couple of times last year. Totally wild. And he always gets the broadly eclectic group to make the chaos work.
