    RIP Steve Albini 🥺 BTW - my social media feeds have more comments about his passing than any musician/producer in recent memory. He had quite an effect on people - especially those who knew him.

    Sona Jobarteh is great! I saw her last year at Big Ears. Unfortunately it was a short set, so I definitely want to see her again.

    Cool. A lot more stages, for sure. Glad to know that it's still "real". For me, I don't do large outdoor shows or festivals anymore. I've been enjoying the SXSW/Big Ears format of multiple small to mid-size indoor venues scattered around a walkable downtown area.

    I only have about 1/2 of the albums in the box (and one of those is "Now"), so I'll be getting it. It will also be a nice tribute to Bobby and Michael. I have the Select, but have never been very happy with those albums.

    Thanks for the JazzFest review. Looks like there's plenty of good music still to be seen there. I had the impression that it was overrun with pop acts. I was there in 1989 and 1990. I'm sure it was much different then. Smaller crowds, if nothing else (not that it wasn't crowded). Saw lots of music in the clubs after festival hours, too. Here's Sun Ra (1989)

    I like Miles at the Blackhawk, and also the large Plugged Nickel set. I would also add Lee Morgan's Complete Lighthouse box. This isn't jazz (exactly), but Jimi's "Songs For Groovy Children" (The Fillmore East Concerts) is an exceptional set that far exceeds all the other versions that have been released to date.
