New album. Saw this group at Big Ears this weekend. GREAT show!

They're all pretty good. I've been streaming them lately.

I just realized the other day that Threadgill is performing in only two shows. The others have a repertory group that's playing his compositions. Will still try to see as many as I can, though.

I've seen Wayne a couple of times in the last few years leading the Mingus Big Band

I plan to see them next Saturday at Big Ears 🎷🎸

Supposedly Rob Reiner is working on a sequel. I hope they don't screw it up. It's a VERY high bar, though.

Love the Mingus BB! I've seen them quite a few times - most recently in December at their latest NY Venue, DROM in the East Village.

I broke down and got a ticket for the Andre 3000 show on Friday

Can't say I've ever seen anything quite like it myself. Seeing Berne in a couple weeks in a very unorthodox "venue". It's a small bookstore in an outer SF neighborhood. They regularly have music and book readings, but music-wise it tends to be local musicians. Looking forward to it! They did have Kahil El’Zabar earlier this week, though. Which was also unusual. Yes - a very talented singer, songwriter and musician in her own right. I never realized until last night that her instrument of choice is what she called an "Austin Mandolin" - it looks like a guitar, but has 8 strings. Maybe that's its real name? You would know, Lon.

Saw Sarah Jarosz and her band last night. Outstanding! I'm not usually a singer/songwriter fan, but she's a little different and is somewhat uncategorizable as far as genre. Covers a lot of ground. Great band, too!
