  1. SURE!
  2. Agg has good examples. Keep it simple for sure. Make sure that you don't read your slide presentation. It's OK to have bullets as a summary of your speech, but if you're just reading what's on the screen, that's a real turn-off.
  3. Well.......NGD will be happening in a couple of weeks. I finally got around to ordering that Blackout Tele from Sweetwater. They expect it to be back in stock by the end of the week and shipping to me is another week. Yoo Hoo!
  4. What is that ... and why does it have so many pickups?

    TONY WILLIAMS

THAT sounds interesting. Doug Carn, especially!
  6. Wow. I didn't think my little mention of that new Tele would raise such a rukus. It does LOOK cool, though - regardless of how it sounds. Interesting that it has only a volume knob, too.
  7. Another nice, black Tele. This one is not quite available yet, but is due out soon. It's a "Jim Root" model. Love that black hardware. Seems to be retailing for about $900.
  8. I like Mabry's voice on this. No knock on Jack (and I'm a MAJOR Jack fan), but this is an interesting and different take.
  9. So, what are all these guitars? Is there a theme? Or just cool looking.
  10. Bush got a nice round of..........boos........when tossing out the first pitch in DC tonight.
  11. Huh. How 'bout that. It used to be there. I liked it so much, I ended up grabbing the CD.
  12. If you like that, you should definitely DL "Live at Raji's". A great live album - start to finish.
  13. This includes both "Shakill's" albums - some of his best stuff.
  14. Lots of free ones: Flickr (Yahoo), Picasa (Google), Snapfish. Adobe just launched a web version of Photoshop that lets you make simple adjustments and then upload your files anywhere (from what I understand) - and it's FREE.
  15. It would be cool if I HAD a practice room!
  16. But seriously......... Rondo's guitars all look pretty OK online, but they can't be very good at their prices. Carvins, OTOH, look pretty cool and must be great to play. This nice little black number is even fairly affordable at under $700!
  17. You could pick up one of these from Rondo for only $150!
  18. a-HA. Interesting. I'd like to try it, but I think it would drive me crazy. Definitely a learning curve.
  19. So, what does the scalloped fingerboard do for you?
  20. Definitely look into the Laurel Inn. There's a great breakfast place across the street - Ella's. As I said, it's also a good walking neighborhood. You have the Sacramento St boutiques a block away and the convenient Laurel Village shopping a couple of blocks away. There's even an old-style, neighborhood movie theater (The Vogue) a block away on Sacramento St that shows first-run films.
  21. Didn't you start a discussion about this guitar in this thread, last week? I say, hey! I like it. Whoa! Yes, I did. Ya know..............the mind is the first thing to go. In my case it's not even the first, but that's another story. Well, feel free to ignore this post (I would).
  22. Don't know that much about convenient and affordable hotels in SF, unfortunately. The Laurel Motor Inn on California & Presidio used to be decent and centrally located. Especially if your appointment is at UCSF's Mt. Zion campus. There are some nice neighborhoods that are walkable from there, too. Easy bus transportation downtown, as well.
  23. Where was that picture taken? That place looks familiar. A bar called BD Riley's. You been there? No. I was thinking of this one place, and now I can't remember the street it's on; all I know is it intersects Lamar, just south of the river (it's the same street that Chuy's is on). And now I can't remember the name of the place either. Are you thinking of The Continental Club on S. Congress?
  24. Nice shot, Chris........good timing.
  25. Anyone played one of these "Blackout" Telecasters? I saw one in Manny's when I was in NYC a few weeks back, but everyone seems to be on backorder now. They're MIM and selling for $500. I've been in the market for something in this price range. Also been looking at Epiphone Les Pauls. Too many choices!
