  1. Thanks. Good to know. At this point, I'll probably stick with the one I have.
  2. I have this collection. I wonder if it's the same.
  3. Kronos Quartet has now been added to the program. Looking over the lineup, I can tell already that there will be MANY conflicts that I'm going to have trouble making decisions about. But I guess that's a GOOD problem ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
  4. The second release by this late 70's Prog super group, U.K.. Not sure how widely it was recognized in the U.S., but 5 of the 6 tracks are well crafted prog-pop tunes with excellent vocals by John Wetton. Sadly the 6th track is a 12 minute prog snoozer. They could have done better ... Oh, well!
  5. Thanks to Russ for sending these fine gifts for winning the Grey Cup Contest ... AGAIN! I'd also like point out the clever Canada/San Francisco connection here Already looking forward to 2024 ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜‰
  6. The last big one was probably Sargent in Spain at the Legion of Honor Museum here in SF. Going to NYC in a few weeks and will see a lot of things at the Met, MOMA, and ICP
  7. Phantasmagoria, or A Different Kind of Journey by The Eivind Aarset 4-tet
  8. I just got that box, too. Interesting extras. I grabbed this box when it was first released. Never been a huge CT fan, but I got it for 2 reasons: 1) it was a limited edition (now seems to be an in-demand collector's item), and 2) I saw them twice that year when I was working in a record store and they were heavily promoting with free tickets. Good shows, though!

  10. I'm a JUGGERNAUT ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿˆ
  11. Cool! Never seen him play piano before, although I know he's multi-talented.
  12. Yes! I was surprised. Much more intense than I've seen in any of his other settings.
  13. Saw Taborn last night at Other Minds. Never seen him solo before, but he was amazing. Much different than I expected. A real powerhouse, but also a unique style that I've never seen before.
  14. Other Minds Festival is this week. Thinking of going on Wednesday. Opens with a performance by Swedish sound artist and composer Ellen Arkbro, whose chordal textures spread out like invisible sculpturesโ€”diamond formations for the listening mind. Arkbro will be followed by an improvised set by the American pianist and composer Craig Taborn, whose music melding the complexity of Iannis Xenakis with the sweetness of Francis Poulenc has been hailed by the New York Times for its โ€œproud refusal to cater to expectations about what jazz, or even music, should be.โ€
  15. The Bunker Sessions by Yo La Tengo
  16. Going for a THREE-PEAT! Montreal Alouettes - 55
  17. I like some graphic novels, but I'm very picky. Would really need to see this before buying.
  18. Saw the latest edition of the SFJAZZ Collective last night: Chris Potter, Ed Simon, Warren Wolf, David Sanchez, Mike Rodriguez, Matt Brewer, Kendrick Scott
  19. I need to listen to that. I've followed her wild ride of a career for a long time. This is her first in a while.
  20. I used to have a stand-alone DVD of it, but I don't think it was numbered. Anyway, I got rid of it when the combined DVD/CD version came out a few years ago. It's now my favorite PT live album (used to be Anesthetize)
