It IS on BMG. I listened to some samples the other day. I've heard a lot about him. Pretty interesting - he does jazz tunes. "Afro Blue", "Oriental Folk Song" and a tune called "Elvin" to name a few.

I'm listening to the DMM LP. I must say that the mastering here contributes to the lack of spark. It's got a real "dull" sound. As mentioned earlier, I wouldn't put it in my top 10 Lee Morgan releases. It's not a dog, but it's not a thoroughbred, either.

I really like this album, too. It's very atmospheric - mostly not a high-energy session except for the last 2 cuts. Here's the instrumentation: 1) "Hello To The Wind" - JC-piano/LY-organ 2) "The Orge" - JC-piano, tabla, cymbals/LY-organ, synth 3) "Mind Rain" - JC-piano, cymbals/LY-organ 4) "After the Rain" - JC-piano (solo) 5) "Message from Mars" - JC-drums/LY-organ 6) "Rock Pile" - JC-drums/LY-organ If you can grab this, get it. I don't think it's that easy to find and I also don't believe it has ever been on CD.

I just found out that I don't have this on LP! I think I have a 45 of it, but my singles are packed away. I have her first 3 albums, but it's not there. Looking at AMG, I see it was included on an expanded (CD) version of "Flex". I hadn't realized that it was a Thomas Dolby tune, either.

Definitely look into his work with Charles Tolliver. "Live at Slugs" and "The Ringer" are the best of the group. He's also Max Roach's "Members, Don't Git Weary", which features Tolliver as well as Gary Bartz, Jymie Merritt and a vocal performance by Andy Bey. This album has both "Equipoise" and "Effi" on it. A must-have. There's a album he did for Galaxy in 1979 called "Equipoise", but I don't believe it has ever been released on CD. It's a great trio session with Cecil McBee and Roy Haynes, though. Finally - if you're not sick of "Equipoise" by now - there's a Larry Coryell album on Muse (also probably not on CD) called................"Equipose". Engineered in 1985 by RVG, it is a great quartet date with Stanley, Billy Hart and Buster Williams.

I have it on an album that came out on Columbia in the 70's called "The First Great Rock Festivals of the Seventies - Isle of Wight/Atlanta Pop Festival". "Call It Anythin' " does indeed clock in at 17:30. It's a tri-fold album (3 records) and 2/3 of the inside is a "fish-eye" shot of Miles & the band from behind. You can see McLaughlin, Chick, Dave Holland, Miles, Airto (I think) and a drummer I can't make out (DeJohnette?).

Managed to find a SEALED copy of The Leaders' "Mudfoot" today at Amoeba. All I've had up until now is a cassette. The sound is so much better, it's amazing. Not only that, the tune "Blues at the Bottom" does not appear on the tape at all - another bonus! Liner notes, too. I'm very happy. B)

I have an Archos 20 Recorder and it's great. Some people have reported problems, but it works great for me. PERFECT for work. Nice NOT to have to ferry CDs back and forth. Also, at about $250 (for the 20GB version) it's about 1/2 the price of similar products.
