  1. patricia - this is from AMG: REALLY!!! B)
  2. Yes. You put the needle on the inside part of the album and it spirals OUT. The albums themselves were called "Counterrevolutionary Music for In-Store-Play". One was R&B tunes by "Con Funk Shun", "Kool & the Gang" and more. The other album was rock with "Southside Johnny", "John Cougar" (before Mellancamp), "Scorpions", etc.
  3. I have a couple of promo albums from Polygram where the groove starts on the inside of the disk and moves OUT.
  4. If not the first.......at least one of the first. Different cover, though. (this one's ugly!)
  5. How does this music compare to albums like "The Cup Bearers" and "A Sure Thing"?
  6. Coming to Yoshi's in February: The Tony Williams Project with Jack Dejohnette, Larry Goldings & John Scofield
  7. Wow. That's fast! Usually these sets sit on the "Running Low" list for months.
  8. That's the right URL. They have "Island of Real" and "Peaceful World" CDs for $12.98.
  9. I think "Peaceful World" was originally a 2LP set.

EKE, thanks for resurrecting my thread from the BNBB morgue!
  11. I never realized that all those folks were on that album. I think I had it at one point in the early 70's. I remember that there was a "jazz angle" to it, but I probably didn't 'get it' at the time.
  12. Just noticed that the Blue Mitchell set is on the "Running Low" list. Might have to order that one pretty soon.
  13. Rooster, you must have forgotten about THIS Conn from the 70's:
  14. As I mentioned in the other thread, I like this series a lot. The lyrics sound a bit dated, but that's OK. There's plenty of good vocals, spearheaded by Andy Bey.
  15. Oh, yeah. There's been a bit of inflation in the music biz over the last few decades.
  16. Is this what you're looking for? Jazzmatazz
  17. Thanks Alfred. I'm pretty sure it was the same quartet, though: George Cables (p), Rufus Reid (B], Eddie Gladden (d).
  18. Anybody know when this was recorded? I saw him at the Keystone in December 1977.
  19. For the record, that Jones/Lewis Mosaic on ebay went for $405!
