  1. Hey, Graypencil......you get around! B)
  2. There's a group that he played with for a period of time that consistently put out great albums - "The Magic Triangle". They consisted of Clifford Jordan, Cedar, Sam Jones & Billy Higgins. So it's basically the same as the "Eastern Rebellion" albums, but with Jordan on tenor. Keep an eye out for: Night of the Mark 7 Firm Roots Highest Mountain On Stage, Vol. 1-3 I would also recommend Sam Jones' "Something In Common" which has been mentioned earlier, too.
  3. Don't remember if this was mentioned earlier in the thread, but the "Yo Miles!" sets are pretty great. Also, because there are only a few tunes and they are REALLY long, it won't eat into your allotment much.
  4. I had to go with Adams. I'm a big fan. The way that Adams, Pullen and Richmond took up the "cause" with their quartet after Charles passed away had a lot to do with it, too. Some of my favorite music, and I was fortunate to have seen them a handful of times (not lucky enough to have seen Mingus himself, though).
  5. Up, because I'm still LOVING this album. Definitely my favorite release of the year. The group is incredibly tight and grooving on all four disks........and the recording quality is fantastic! Especially for the early 60's. B)
  6. I believe Carter was known to say "nukular" frequently. I'm sure we could find out for sure if we axed the right people. My latest peeve (though not exactly an abuse of the language) is the term, "at the end of the day". EVERYONE'S using it, all the time, and it's so tired.....already! Example: "We're pushing this legislation, because 'at the end of the day' it will create more jobs."
  7. It's just been added to EMusic, too.
  8. Seems like I just got #50 recently. I must be WAY down on the list.
  9. They also seem to have acquired the Artemis label, which includes Warren Zevon, Graham Nash and Steve Earle among others. Still........none of this stuff is actually available to d/l yet.
  10. Just listening to Disk 4 tonight. It's really whacked out. Very entertaining. Interesting textures and sounds from both the acoustic and electric instruments. Quite a bit different from the rest of the set, yet it fits.
  11. I have to admit that I've had Hermeto's "Slaves Mass" on vinyl since it came out, and probably can count the times I've listened to it on one hand. I'll have to remedy that situation soon.
  12. I was trying to download the entire internet last night and it seemed to take FOREVER!
  13. "Live at Leeds" - DEFINITELY a l-o-u-d album.
  14. Geeeeeeez. I almost forgot about THIS one!
  15. David Chase & Sanborn Chico Freeman in Paris Don Pullen his weight
  16. Not exactly jazz, but what about the late, great band Morphine??
  17. Excellent, FREE! I'll give it a shot: McCoy Bow-Tyner Oliver Land-of-10,000 Lake Oliver Half-Nelson Woody Rick-Shaw Max Roach Motel
  18. RT was on NPR's "Weekend Edition Sunday" today. It was pretty good, plus he performed 5 tunes - including "Oops, I Did It Again" (yes, THAT Britney Spears tune) Here's the link: Weekend Edition Sunday
