I think I have a Kenny Burrell live on which is Art Blakey..... Though I don´t know what is or was club mozambic. if Grant Green played there it must have been some gas to go there. But strange enough for BN records, with the exception of Idris Muhammad I don´t know any of the sidemen.... Quote

Yosuke Yamashita------Montreux Afterglow----(Frasco) 1976 date Great record. Do you also have the "Up-To-Date" double album, recorded one year earlier by the trio with the original drummer Takeo Moriyama? That's an incredible concert performance, like the Cecil Taylor Unit in full flight, and, as a bonus, an "audiophile" recording. Quote

Koyama is no slouch, but Moriyama's drumming takes the music to an entirely different level. I'd also recommend Clay (Enja, rec. '74) and Chiasma (MPS, rec. '75), two live Yamashita Trio recordings with Moriyama. 20 hours ago, optatio said: Such a lovely record. Quote

Funnily enough, my very first second hand LP, a Miles twofer, was purchased from Ed at his home address from a typed list, possibly his first and before the Mole shop. No longer have the LPs but still have the list ! Wow, that must have been early 70s? Quote

If I remember correctly, he was advertising his second hand jazz LP list at the back of 'Jazz Journal'. Sent in SAE to get the list. That list has stuff like Tubbs 'Mexican Green' on Fontana for about £2 ! Edited December 13, 2023 by sidewinder Quote

Also, it's my home state, although I live too far north for cotton. In the southern part of Georgia -- down on the Coastal Plain, you can see cotton growing everywhere. adh1907 Posted December 13, 2023 Report Posted December 13, 2023 ‘I play trombone’, Frank Rosolino. CBS Sony Japan Mono. Hollywood 1956. I am struck by Sonny Clark’s work on this. He has a lot of space. His long joyful solo on ‘My delux’ is a stand out. His style seems fully formed at this point. Anthony London Quote

Pretty typical Texier, those rolling bass themes, some nice added wordless vocals which I'm not sure he's used before.
