Uncle Skid Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 Complete Vee Jay Lee Morgan & Wayne Shorter Sessions Not sure which disc -- it's my "Second Genesis" MP3 playlist, which is in the original album order. I still prefer not to listen to the alternate takes all in a row. Quote
Alexander Hawkins Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 A spot of Tal Farlow! CD 1. His tune selection reminds me of Sonny Rollins sometimes. They'd have been great together c.1957. Quote
tranemonk Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 and your thoughts???? Elvin Jones, for the first time, discs 1-6 ← Quote
take5 Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 and your thoughts???? Elvin Jones, for the first time, discs 1-6 ← ← Oh it's wonderful. Of course I knew Elvin from his work with 'Trane but the sheer variety of the music here made listening to the whole box in one day feel like nothing. (Listening at work allows one to listen to entire Mosaics in a day) Especialy love the sax trio stuff and the concert on the last 2 discs. Quote

tranemonk Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 Miles - Disc 1... The Complete In A Silent Way Sessions... (okay I'm cheating since technically since its the CD version and not the LP version, it's not a Mosaic release... ) I haven't listened to electric Miles in ages... I put this stuff on and forgot how good/evolutionary it was.... Quote
