king ubu Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 I'm enjoying the fact that I finally got a shipping confirmation for my Roach set - phew! The Berigan still hasn't arrived, so I'm looking forward a lot to both of these! During the wait, I'll try and make my way all through the Mildred Bailey, a great one, in my opinion! Quote
ghost of miles Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 Chu Berry, disc 5. The Hampton and Manone sides aren't quite as enjoyable for me so far, but there are some very good moments--Chu's playing on "Sweethearts on Parade" (which really does seem to anticipate Hampton's Jacquet turn in the 1940s) and the modern-sounding "Shufflin' at the Hollywood."
