mellowT Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Dexter Gordon - Mosaic Select 14 In honor of my first and favorite Mosaic Select, which just went OOP this morning. I must be on, like, listen #31 by now. It never gets old. Quote
jeffcrom Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Bennie Green Select. I really like it. Green was one of the first jazz trombonists I became aware of - he played on the boxed 45 RPM Charlie Ventura album my mom brought home for me when I was 16 or so. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 I first appreciated BG on the Jo Jones Vanguard date with Lucky Thompson. Wonderful player. Quote

Clunky Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 Pulled the Bob Brookmeyer off the shelf and realised that although I bought this Select three years ago, discs 2 and 3 were still sealed.!! Rectifying that now by listening to Disc 2- very nice lightly swinging charts. Some excellent Giuffre on this disc. Quote
gmonahan Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 I pulled the now-sadly-lost Lou Donaldson set off the shelf and am listening to disc one. Curtis Fuller is on fire. greg mo Quote
