Jim Alfredson Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 Just so everyone knows, we've been having wicked thunderstorms all across Michigan this month. Especially the past two weeks. It seems like some part of Michigan gets at least one per day. I saw the whether on the local 6pm news and there was a storm right around Ann Arbor (where the servers for this website are located). If the power goes out, this board goes down. That's all there is to it. The company who hosts the site has battery backups, but they don't keep the computer running during a power outtage, they just give the guys time to shut the computers down. Know what I mean? Quote
Jim R Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I seem to have run into a new wrinkle today. For some reason, although I can post on other threads, I couldn't post on the "Favorite Saxophone Ballad" thread. After clicking on "new reply", the normal page for posting came up, but the page was truncated (cut off just above the post icons) so that I couldn't see the "add reply" and "preview post" buttons. In addition, the space where you type in your message contained about 30 or 40 lines of computer code. Weird. I tried several times to return to the thread after I had posted elsewhere, but the same thing kept occurring. Quote
Jim R Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I should have added one thing... Dexter Gordon // Days of Wine and Roses (from the TANGERINE album) B) Quote
Jim Dye Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 I wasn't able to get on for the past couple of hours. No storms, either... hmmm Quote
BERIGAN Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 I wasn't able to get on for the past couple of hours. No storms, either... hmmm Bad Axe??? You added that one, right???? I have had problems off and on the last few days, just assumed it was happening to me! Oh well, good right now! Quote
Joe G Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Bad Axe??? You added that one, right???? Nope. Actual city in Mich. And if you make it up here, you should also visit Quote
brownie Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 Looks like the webserver went down again today for more than one hour. Quote

Jim R Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 It's been VERY slow here for me today, when I've been able to log in at all. Things only just began to pick up again (about 4:45 pacific time). Quote

RonF Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 Couldn't get on the 30th or 31st around 4-5 MDT. Quote
vibes Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 I also had problems around the time Ron mentioned. Quote
Peter Johnson Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 Haven't been able to get on all day until now (9:30 est) Quote
RonF Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 Still the 31st, about 11:00PM MDT. It took me about 10 minutes to get to "post reply" with several connection failures along the way. All other sites are working fine. Now, if it will just send. Quote
brownie Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 When I tried to post this morning (Paris time), all I could get was the homepage. None of the links worked. Took one hour to get a working link to the Forums Quote
