sidewinder Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 I saw a copy of the Green CD set in London a few weeks ago for about £100. I passed as I have the LP set. It had gone the next time I checked in. Quote
doubleM Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 We should start calling this the "H-O-L-Y SHIT!!!" thread. Quote
Brad Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 here's some ebay madness for ya: $510.00 for the grant green set... WTF? -e- I just saw that tonight. That's fuckin' unbelievable esp. since most of the music is otherwise available in cd. Quote

That's fuckin' unbelievable esp. since most of the music is otherwise available in cd. I have the Grant Green 'The complete Quartets with Sonny Clark' BN released in 1997. Does that really cover all the stuff of the Mosaic set? Could anybody post the discography of this Mosaic set? $510 for this set is even more than madness! Edited February 19, 2005 by ASNL77 Quote

Mitchell Duval Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 (edited) I'm a longtime lurker, and I hate for my first post on this board to be on such a nerdly thread, but thisMosaic auction blew my mind. More than $140 per cd! With a scuffed box! Edited February 26, 2005 by Mitchell Duval Quote

Perhaps these are being sold with the original bubble-wrap??? Quote

Ron S Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Hmmmmm. Interesting. B-) "The set is No. 3,312 and bears Mosaic catelogue No. MD5-151. It consists of 5 CDs. The set has been sold out for some time, since the 1960's I believe." Yeah, sure, it sold out in the 1960's. But back then people only used the CDs as COASTERS, so it's hard to find a set now without those rings left by glass condensation or spill stains or scuff marks all over the CDs. Quote

Daniel A Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 He/she is quite remarkably still a "Power Seller", something which is described on eBay's website like this: When you see this icon next to the member's user ID, be assured that the member is a qualified PowerSeller who not only maintains a solid sales record but also a 98% positive feedback rating based on transactions with other eBay users. You can feel assured that your transaction will go smoothly and that you are dealing with one who has consistently met the requirements established by eBay. Quote
Patrick Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 I purchased one of these so-called "rare" Pullen Selects from that seller and experienced no problems. Even purchased an actual OOP Donaldson Blue Note title as well . At least this seller uses the word "rare" and not OOP like some sellers of the JJ Johnson or Mobley sets. Quote
