I have quite a few of the Legends of Acid Jazz CDs. The graphics suck, especially if you want to actually read what's written in front of said graphics. For instance, on this CD:

I'm spinning this now and it's pretty darn good, crappy graphics and all.

I just bought a copy at the Bull Moose store in Portsmouth, NH for $7.

Recorded In Englewood Cliffs, NJ; January 4, 1971 (#1-5) and July 9, 1971 (#6-11).
#1-5 originally released as Turn It On! (Prestige 10012); #6-11 as Black Vibrations (Prestige 10032).

 I got the Gene Ammons, Red Holloway & another of the Johnny Hammond Smith discs.

Hard to remember that these late ones are the same Sonny Stitt as was recording on Prestige back in the early 50's

Thanks for this thread, which has been quite helpful over the years. I finally managed to complete my collection of these Prestige CDs last weekend and would like to add some related BGP reissues that haven't been mentioned before:

CDBGPD 064 Melvin Sparks - Sparks! / Akilah

Sparks! was part of the Legends of Acid Jazz two-fer, but Akilah ist only included in this release.

Also these two:

CDBGPD 252 Pucho & His Latin Soul Brothers – Big Stick / Dateline
CDBGPD 255 Pucho & His Latin Soul Brothers – Saffron and Soul / Shuckin' and Jivin'

Bundled with the aforementioned 24138 (for Tough!) and CDBGPD 047 (Heat / Jungle Fire), they complete Pucho's Prestige discography.
