felser Posted February 28 Report Posted February 28 (edited) I never heard of him either until last week, but this is incredible - and my wife wants you to know that she echoes my sentiment!: Edited February 28 by felser Quote
Holy Ghost Posted March 1 Report Posted March 1 A Fickle Sonance off of.... Strong, fierce, never heard Tommy Turrentine play so loud, confident, and altogther tight, like Freddie Hubbard (circa 1960) tight. It is the only tune Jackie explores the fringes of "out" music on this disc; shame, kind of wish the entire record was like this, but alas. Shout out to Butch Warren too, the man's a monster bassist. Needless, great album overall and so glad to have it. Quote
Pepico Jazz Posted March 2 Report Posted March 2 Good morning: In this past week, one of the best tracks I have listened is Border. That theme is in Sarah Elizabeth Charles album, blaqck canvas. Highly recomended.... Quote

Especially fun to hear Sonny Clark forced out of his comfort zone: he acquits himself quite well! Quote
