felser
Heaven on Earth by Larry Young - came out in the last year or two - can't recall the re-issuer offhand (have it at home) 2010 copyright on this disc. I got mine at Dusty Groove in May of 2010. Would love to have a new reissue of Contrasts. You can say that again. After all, "you know who" is on that date. I do know who is on this date - well, I don't but I can check - but which 'you know who' is the stand out in your mind? One interesting name on the date is Tyrone Washington. colinmce
Modified the subject of the topic to say anything within the last 10 years (not just 5). Anyone know what titles were in the very last batch of domestic (US) RVG's?? Or maybe the last 2 batches?? February 10 2009 Paul Chambers - Paul Chambers Quintet Grant Green - Grant's First Stand Jackie McLean - One Step Beyond Leo Parker - Rollin' With Leo Horace Parlan - Up And Down Stanley Turrentine - A Chip of the Old Block February 24 2009 Grant Green - Street of Dreams Jackie McLean - Bluesnik Grachan Moncur III - Some Other Stuff Horace Silver - The Tokyo Blues Baby Face Willette - Stop And Listen Tony Williams - Spring
David Ayers
I am pretty sure the next batch of RVG's will be arriving any day now...
Cali
Did "Water" ever come out with any other obscure late 60's / early 70's BN titles? I have Lou Donaldson's "Say It Loud", and both of the Eddie Gale's -- and seem to remember there were one or two others (that didn't interest me as much). Anyone have a full list? I have a 2004 release of Duke Pearson's THE PHANTOM.

chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez
Hey, chewy, is there a road straight from Californication to Bantu Village? Guess that's quite a ride lolz, well maybe not -that- straight, lol....but probably nearby.....
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez
orly! Is this relatively recent to CD for the first time? - (meaning within the last 5-ish years). It's not one I remember ever seeing on CD. Grant Green - Shades of Green I didn't know that was on CD. Anyone got details? MG Trivia point: The electric pianist on this date, Emmanuel Riggins, is the father of the great young Detroit-born drummer Karriem Riggins (Ray Brown, Mulgrew Miller, Roy Hargrove, etc.), who is also a major league hip hip producer and drummer (Common, J Dilla, etc.)
romualdo
Diverging from the Water label & strictly not a Blue Note (recorded & originally released on French Vogue) The Wade Legge 10" (New Faces- New Sounds: Wade Legge Trio 5031) was first released in 2006 on the UK Giant Steps label (Dizzy Gillespie double CD "Dizzy Digs Paris") - don't think this has had a CD release previously I suspect this is a needle drop unless Giant Steps has access to the Vogue tapes? Anyone know if the Fats Sadi 10" (The Swinging Fats Sadi 5061) has ever been available on CD - I'm surprised it's never been released in France - great lineup! JETman
I think I have both the Wade Legge and Fats Sadi as Japanese paper sleeve editions.

JSngry
I got this one in a mini-LP format from Red Trumpet back when they was still thriving. It's Japanese and dated 1997.

No idea why but the Fats Sadi Vogue 10" session was never reissued in France. The original Vogue cover: There was a Japanese twelve-inch vinyl reissue of the album. Swinging Swede
"Fats" or not, he could have straightened his shirt. That is actually a very good album. Appeared on a blog some time ago.
