Had to stop after track 10 yesterday. This is fascinating. Ensemble music on a sophisticated level that jazz reached only some time later. Danzones were recorded before jazz was.

Have the Woody Shaw and the Griffin/Lockjaw Davis (with Tet Montoliu + N.H.O Pedersen + Art Taylor as impeccable Rhythm Section) too - both truly excellent ....

Louis Armstrong "The Nightclubs" . . . mine has a different version of the cover as mine is the subscription edition not the general edition (has an extra track and extensive liner notes by Ricky Ricardi).

Really nice, better than the first release in the series.
