sidewinder Posted January 11, 2023 Report Posted January 11, 2023 (edited) Dusting this one off (literally), CD6 and whetting appetite for the new Mosaic. Better sound than I remembered. Edited January 11, 2023 by sidewinder Quote
jazzbo Posted January 11, 2023 Report Posted January 11, 2023 (edited) This arrived from ebay (not very well packed darn it) this week, I missed this when it was first released many years ago and I'm glad I finally corralled it: Joe Williams "At Newport '63" RCA Bluebird cd. Great band backing him with the great Coleman Hawkins as a guest. Edited January 11, 2023 by jazzbo Quote

mjzee Posted January 11, 2023 Report Posted January 11, 2023 Really enjoying this. Smith doesn't sound like anyone else, and these tunes are thoughtfully composed, arranged, and performed. Quote

Must have been a leader of the stars with one-name monikers, like Elvis, Cher, Donovan, Dizzy and others. Great cover, headline font, use of color. Just downloaded the Apple music "Candido" to check out the music. Thanks for your post in this case. Quote

jazzbo Posted January 13, 2023 Report Posted January 13, 2023 One of my favorite rock albums of fifty years ago has been given a RADICAL remix. Sounds great, but it’s almost a different album, which is also not a bad thing! There’s a contemporary live redo of the album by Bob and new bandmates on disc 2 that I have not gotten to yet. Bob Weir “Ace” 50th Anniversary 2 cd set, disc 1. Quote
