This is one where the sound of The Spirit Room bugs me. TOO "transparent", like ok, it's a dead room. But why let it sound like a dead room? A little air or something in the mix, maybe?

Joe Henderson “Double Rainbow: the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim” Verve cd

This is an excellent cd in every way. Joe plays both so forcefully and so gently in his unique way, and when this came out was when I first realized what a badass Eliane Elias is. Herbie Hancock is equally wonderful here.

Elvin was the same for the live A Love Supreme too. Must have always got there first...
