I almost said that but saw the $7.50 shipping charge, so I thought I'd give the real cost. :)

OK, I forgot about that as I ordered about 7 3 dollar cds from the label and I think only paid that one shipping cost.

They ship from the UK I believe. Pretty fast though.

Yes, pretty quick.

I'm in the UK and my last order for an an stock Whirlwind LP title took 2 months!

Their excuse was that they warehouse and ship from southern Europe where the extreme heat meant it wasn't safe to ship LPs. I called that the BS it most surely was

Sorry to hear that. Their service for cds has always been quick for me.

Yes, strictly CDs and downloads from them from now on

It was actually a Harish Raghavan that your enthusiastic post about prompted the purchase. The album is good which was a consolation, delayed satisfactionΒ

May ard Ferguson - M.F. Horn Two

M.F.HornTwo.jpg.0d33a37a487b256ce434e554d05dfd7e.jpg

Ferguson's one of those guys who looks absolutely enormous in contemporaneous discourse and in historical recollection, but who makes no appearance in history books.

I still struggle with all the squealing, but it's a pretty good record. What an ugly cover, though.

I like #4&5 much better though, as I assume most people do.

Dizzy fronting the Clarke-Boland band.Β

The Clarke-Boland band was fantastic, but I fear I was a bit too young to have heard it live.Β  One of our Austrian heroes in jazz was tenor saxophonist Karl Drewo, whom I knew of course and thatΒ΄s where I got more info about the Clark-Boland Band.Β  I fear most of that stuff of OOP in 72-75
Dizzy with Klook, that must have been a reunion from the bop era, I think Klook must have been DizzyΒ΄s first drummer.Β

I think there was a time in my youth when I listened chronologically to the transition Miles made from acoustic to electric.Β

I mean, I think "Sky" was the first that used fender rhodes but if I remember right, ony on the first track "Stuff" .Β

Was the next "Filles de Kilimanjaro" ? oh yeah, and than "Silent Way" and "Brew".Β
I donΒ΄t listen so chronological any more, but I find that "Brew" , after you practically have "lived" with the Miles from 72-75 still sounds like a mostly acoustic record, like a larger instrumentation of stuff that came with "Silent Way".Β

… featuring Arno Marsh on β€œScrapple From The Apple”!

Also that cover subtitle: β€œβ€¦ the *infamous* marathon Sunday jam sessions.” πŸ˜‚

Indeed a great compilation for club members only??
