Starting off with a new edition of a classic recording I have always really enjoyed–Miles Davis “Ascenseur pour L’Echafaud” on the new Fontana 2 cd reissue. The sound is likely identical to the previous reissue, but the packaging is much better–in a hardbound “book” rather than a slipcased 2 cd digipak and a separate booklet. This Blue Note cd from 2015, “We are the Drum,” is quite nice.
