Kevin Bresnahan Posted Saturday at 03:14 PM Report Posted Saturday at 03:14 PM The OJC CD of "Olio" is going for crazy money these days. It's good but not that good. Quote
Late Posted Saturday at 07:31 PM Report Posted Saturday at 07:31 PM It's interesting to see how Dusty Groove, for example, prices used OJC titles. Some titles that I think would have a higher price point don't. The converse is also true. Used Jackie McLean OJC titles on DG sell for above original retail. Japanese RVGs sell for much higher. Gheorghe Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago I don´t know who are the All Stars, but when I was in my early teens those Prestige Double albums where the best way to get to know the older music, the acoustic Miles, the still straight ahead stuff or standard ballads blowing Trane, the early Sonny Rollins, they all seemed to record for Prestige. I have heard there were many other recordings artists too, but I think it was those giants who....with the exception of Trane were very active when I was going to high school. Well Trane was dead for maybe 5 years, but his spirit was so strong you could feel him everywhere....... he never had died ! Quote

That's the one with Teo on tenor, right? Two was an interesting tenor player. Hell, an interesting musician, period. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago nope, Olio is with Frank Wess... nice record, though. Teo with the Prestige Jazz Quartet is another story. Quote
JSngry Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Ah, yes. And yes! But Thad and Elvin. Two players of interest! Quote
