Kevin Bresnahan Posted August 1 Report Posted August 1 My bandcamp order: I got the LP version of "Split Decision" & it comes with a download. I went digital on the others because the shipping from outside the US is just too expensive. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted August 1 Report Posted August 1 The biggest PITA with some of these "WAV" downloads from bandcamp is that they don't compress to mp3 using Exact Audio Copy because they are not a standard WAV format. They give them to you at a higher bitrate WAV. I have to edit them with Audacity and save them as 44.1 kHz WAV and then they convert. Quote
HutchFan Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 Found these two LPs earlier today at a local shop: and Quote

Might have picked that up also. Is there a specific reason you want download as Wav and then convert to mp3, rather than just dl as mp3 from Bandcamp in the first place? I don't dl as much as I probably ought to, but when I do, it is as 320 mp3s. Quote

HutchFan Posted Sunday at 06:25 AM Report Posted Sunday at 06:25 AM I just ordered this LP from Dusty Groove: Miyazawa Akira Quartet - 木曽 = Kiso (Victor JP, rec. 1970) with Masahiko Sato (p), Yasuo Arakawa (b), and Takeo Moriyama (d) I discovered this astonishing album a few years ago via YouTube. I can't wait to hear it in high fidelity. Quote

I wasn't aware that it had been reissued either -- until I saw it on Dusty Groove's site. According to Discogs, it was reissued in January of this year. I'm super-stoked that it's available again. I'm not a Japanese jazz expert, but it's definitely one of the most compelling J-jazz albums I've ever heard. EDIT The down-side of the reissue? Like many Japanese reissues, it's not cheap. It cost me nearly $50. OTOH, the one original Kiso listed on Discogs is priced at $1,649. 😬 Edited Monday at 05:18 PM by HutchFan Quote
