tonym Posted September 5, 2007 Author Report Posted September 5, 2007 Now I've just ordered these from our crocodile friends through Amazon.co.uk. I had saved the old link from the now missing search bar to my favourites and I once more used that link. Does that mean the board still gets a cut? Quote

mikeweil Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 (edited) Just ordered used copies of Vol. 2 & 4 of J.S. Bach's harpsichord concertos with the Purcell Quartet and Robert Woolley from amazon.co.uk - I have Vol. 1 & 3, but they're all oop. Woolley is the only one to play the solo part exactly as written, with no rhythmical deviations - Bach wrote it all out! Edited September 12, 2007 by mikeweil Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 (edited) Well, I got an external hard drive a couple of days ago. Spent forever dopying stuff over and rearranging everything on the new and old drives. And, in the meantime, these turned up. Glad to get this, because I failed to buy "Pigmy" when it came out. Still a bit pissed off that they mixed up the tracks from the two albums, but never mind. Wow!!!!! Anyone who is seriously into funky stuff should get these! They are GROOVATHONS!!!!!! MG PS the Mainstreams come from Hiroshi. Edited September 13, 2007 by The Magnificent Goldberg Quote

Guest Bill Barton Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 Wally Shoup/Gust Burns/Reuben Radding/Greg Campbell - The Levitation Shuffle I went to hear Wally Shoup, Gust Burns and Bob Rees tonight at Gallery 1412 in Seattle and bought this at the show. It's a highly recommended CD that has been getting lots of airplay on KBCS. And the performance was superb: enough energy to light up the whole city . Quote

The Magnificent Goldberg Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 The first 2 of my latest tranche of OJCs turned up this morning This is fuckin' fantastic! Nat, whose stuff I listen to more than Cannon's, is spitting fire on this! And Johnny Griffin is rolling me over! And the 3 Sounds are great! Another terrific one! Oliver Nelson and Joe Newman really make this into an extraordinary album! Perhaps not as in your face as the Adderley, but still a blinder! I could have been listening to these for forty years!!!! The Magnificent Goldberg Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 Got my Sterns sale albums today One of my favourites, upgraded from K7. Nice to see there are two bonus tracks on the CD version. Not heard this yet, but it does look like it's a jazz album. And also one I ordered a little while ago from Amazon UK, which, though it's Spanish, had to come from the US? Strange that the bonus tracks are the trio cuts from Sonny's album "Deuces wild". another I'm glad to upgrade, though my King pressing is very good. MG Quote
