Now I've just ordered these from our crocodile friends through Amazon.co.uk.

I had saved the old link from the now missing search bar to my favourites and I once more used that link.

Does that mean the board still gets a cut?

yesterday my own copy of the Mingus Cornell 1964 set arrived! (I've had a sealed copy lying around for over a month but that one's a birthday gift for a friend whom I'll meet this saturday...)

Yesterday I took some magazines to donate to the Tidal Wave (where the library gets rid of old stuff). Almost didn't go in to shop, but I did...and found:

Andrew Hill - Mosaic Select, no book

Milton Brown - 4 cd box on Prper, long booklet

Sister Rosetta Tharpe - 1 cd on Verve

Lee Wiley - Mosaic Single

Bill Frisell - Good Dog

Lenny Bro' - with Levon Helm & Rick Danko

All that and a bag of chip, well cookies actually, for a grand total of $9!!!!!!

Just ordered used copies of Vol. 2 & 4 of J.S. Bach's harpsichord concertos with the Purcell Quartet and Robert Woolley from amazon.co.uk - I have Vol. 1 & 3, but they're all oop.

Woolley is the only one to play the solo part exactly as written, with no rhythmical deviations - Bach wrote it all out!

Well, I got an external hard drive a couple of days ago. Spent forever dopying stuff over and rearranging everything on the new and old drives. And, in the meantime, these turned up.

Glad to get this, because I failed to buy "Pigmy" when it came out. Still a bit pissed off that they mixed up the tracks from the two albums, but never mind.

Wally Shoup/Gust Burns/Reuben Radding/Greg Campbell - The Levitation Shuffle

shoupBurnsLevitation.jpg

I went to hear Wally Shoup, Gust Burns and Bob Rees tonight at Gallery 1412 in Seattle and bought this at the show. It's a highly recommended CD that has been getting lots of airplay on KBCS. And the performance was superb: enough energy to light up the whole city :excited:.

Went shopping in Seattle today:

Gram Parsons: The Complete Reprise Sessions.

Pure Prairie League: Pure Prairie League / Bustin' Out.

The Flying Burrito Bros: Anthology 1969 - 1972.

The International Submarine Band: Safe At Home.

Poco: Pickin' Up The Pieces.

Jackson Browne:

--- Jackson Browne (AKA: Saturate Before Using).

--- For Everyman

--- Late For The Sky

I know, I know, forgive me; I'm falling for the whole 1968 - 1977 Country-Rock, Singer/Songwriter Era stuff right now.

The first 2 of my latest tranche of OJCs turned up this morning

This is fuckin' fantastic! Nat, whose stuff I listen to more than Cannon's, is spitting fire on this! And Johnny Griffin is rolling me over! And the 3 Sounds are great!

ssbs.jpg

Another terrific one! Oliver Nelson and Joe Newman really make this into an extraordinary album! Perhaps not as in your face as the Adderley, but still a blinder!

I could have been listening to these for forty years!!!!

AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!

Got my Sterns sale albums today

sylaf96070.jpg

One of my favourites, upgraded from K7. Nice to see there are two bonus tracks on the CD version.

Not heard this yet, but it does look like it's a jazz album.

And also one I ordered a little while ago from Amazon UK, which, though it's Spanish, had to come from the US?

Strange that the bonus tracks are the trio cuts from Sonny's album "Deuces wild". another I'm glad to upgrade, though my King pressing is very good.
