Yeah I got it, but it's an LP - no others I'm afraid. Label is given as 51 West, which appears to be a CBS imprint. The sleeve has precious little info and even scambles the track order.

An unusually good day at the thrift store today

The highlights being

Harold Land – A New Shade of Blue - Mainstream

Folksongs of the Louisiana Acadians - Arhoolie

The Greatest Hits of Bob Wills

A half dozen mid 90’s emo/punk lp’s from the likes of Solid Jackson, Simon Joyner and Mousetrap.

And the strangest of all. About two weeks ago I picked up a half complete lp copy of Happy End Of The World by the Pizzicato Five at a St. Vinnies’. Then today on the other side of town at a little private thrift store I found the missing lp, still in great shape.

Well, the postman came today and brought me some goodies from Amazon France. The two I ordered were:

Amazon also sent me a freebie:

1786-2.jpg

This compilation was issued by UNICEF earlier this year, to support efforts to demobilise child solders in Africa. Damn good album! Not sure about the value of giving it away free, though.

Got three cheapo swing band CDs in Ponty today

B00004SPP9.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V1130988777_.jpg

The other two were in the same series by Count Basie and Chick Webb (no pix on the web). Nice stuff, generally not many of the bands’ best known singles, it seems. Which gives me scope for more compilations in due course.

Well, checked how much I had left on my credit card, closed my eyes, prayed for courage, and bought this....

The Complete Bill Evans on Verve.

Supposed to be "like new," the Amazon seller had 100% positive feedback. What the heck, you only live once.

PS: this picture is not the copy I bought, my copy should not have rust on it -- I hope.
