ASNL77 Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 (edited) It is amazingly warm in Bristol right now. Difficult to believe that snow is on its way. It should be with us on Tuesday. And Bob, I don't know how you can live in a place that has no milkman. This country is not the same without these guys. Edited March 18, 2007 by ASNL77 Quote
sidewinder Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 It is amazingly warm in Bristol right now. Difficult to believe that snow is on its way. It should be with us on Tuesday. And Bob, I don't know how you can live in a place that has no milkman. This country is not the same without these guys. To be honest Yves there is a guy who does a local delivery in this neck of the woods but I've never made use of it. I can remember though when this method was pretty well used by everyone over here - that started to change during the 1980s I guess. The major milk suppliers (e.g. Unigate) have really cut back their service. Quote
brownie Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Spring has ended Grey skies over Paris with drizzles to last through most of the day! Quote
sidewinder Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Difficult to believe that snow is on its way. Once again, according to the BBC forecast it looks as if I might well miss the white stuff. Quote
tonym Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Difficult to believe that snow is on its way. Once again, according to the BBC forecast it looks as if I might well miss the white stuff. So far this morning, snowflakes the size of pound notes, hail, sun, rain and very high winds. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 We have high winds here, too. Even a bit of snow could produce problems with drifting. But it's sunny! MG Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Perhaps we can keep the snow away by concerted playing of Christmas records - since there's never a white Christmas MG Quote
7/4 Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Yeah, it's the garden state. I heard that before. we'll be back on track when the snow melts... Quote
7/4 Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 particularly that large chunk of ice on my windshield, I wanted to go to the Princeton Record Exchange today. Quote
7/4 Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 it was at least 97 yesterday I always think about Southern California this time of year. I miss the time I spent there over the years. Quote

7/4 Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 i live in arizona my "location" is the tv show sanford and son's address ah. never been to Arizona, but it's on my list of places to visit. maybe I'll land there, rent a car and drive to LA. Quote
7/4 Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 I think I'll make that trip to Princeton later this week. Quote
T.D. Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Had around 16"-18" of snow in a "Nor'easter" Friday into Saturday. 2-3" more of snow showers overnight. Today is really windy, and everything's blowing around. Weirdly, it was close to 70 degrees (F) last Wednesday! Quote
chris olivarez Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Another lovely day though it is clouding up a bit. Currently 64 degrees. Quote
Claude Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 (edited) Last week it was very warm (up to 18 °C), now we have the first snow of the year Edited March 19, 2007 by Claude Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 Playing Christmas music last night definitely worked! Hardly any snow - sunny but windy day today. I can recommend Christmas Jazz for keeping the snow away! MG Quote
Soulstation1 Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 we had a cold spell yesterday it was only 90°.... Quote
Parkertown Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 Mid 60's in Pagosa and all the merchants are bumming because the spring breakers aren't buying ski jackets but as Scott (Parkertown)knows Colorado weather can turn on a dime especially in March and April. Yep...that's why I ALWAYS carry a jacket, at least in the car. I keep waiting for the impending doom a heavy spring storm can bring... Quote
7/4 Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 It is snowing in NYC. WTF? At least it's not cold enough to stick. Quote
T.D. Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 Upstate NY, just had 2-3" of snow which stuck, snow showers predicted for the next several days... Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 Booful here - pity the back garden retaining wall (retaining next door's patio, 6' higher than our garden) started falling over, so the builders had to take it down and have only just relaid the foundations, resulting in bags of cement, retaining wall blocks, wheelbarrows etc etc all over our garden. This fortnight will probably be the only summer we'll see this year. MG Quote
