Good to see a fellow Bergman fan. :g

Really enjoy hearing Bergman/Drake doing Ornette. :D

It's a shame Bergman doesn't get the chance to record as often as others now or over his career.

It took me a very long time to track down a copy of this disc, for some reason. It was well worth the wait! I got it mainly for Hamid, but have really been digging Bergman's work on this disc. It is my first exposure to him...any recommendations for where to go next?

Up next -

Cecil Taylor - The Willisau Concert

I would suggest these Bergman recordings

A New Frontier-solo (Soul Note)

The Fire Tale/w Evan Parker (Soul Note)

The Human Factor/w Andrew Cyrille (Soul Note)

Ride into the Blue/w Thomas Borgmann/Peter Brötzmann (Konnex)

His latest is called Prayers and Meditations and it has been getting a lot of excellent reviews from what I understand. I haven't picked it up as of yet.

Nice picture of Hamid.

I really haven't been able to find an avatar that I like or when I do like it get it to work.

Today's Listening Pleasure:

Miles-Complete Montreux 1973-1991 (Disc 8) I am actually enjoying this box better than I imagined I would.

Joe McPhee Trio X-Journey (CIMP) great new release from this trio but the usual CIMP Spirit Room Sound. It's about time they retired the Spiritless room or get someone that can record what is being played better than Marc "I have no clue how to record a bass" Rusch.

Joe McPhee-Visitation (Boxholder) really excellent playing and sounds great.

Ellery Eskelin-Arcanum Moderne (hatOLOGY), this is a keeper!

Schlippenbach/Murray-Smoke (FMP)

Ben Webster-Soulville (Verve)

Joe McPhee's Bluette-In the Spirit (CIMP)

Keith Rowe/Toshimaru Nakamura-Weather Sky (Erstwhile)

Cecil-Air Above Mountains (Enja)

Art Blakey & JM with Monk (Rhino/Atlantic)

Woody Shaw-Rosewood (Sony)

Archie Shepp/Horace Parlan-Goin' Home (SteepleChase)

Howard Riley/Barry Guy/Tony Oxley-Synopsis (1973) (Emanem)

At the moment

Anthony Braxton-Quartet (Dortmund) 1976 (hatOLOGY)

Next up

Stravinsky-Violin concerto in D & Prokofiev Violin concerto No. 1 & 2: Cho-Liang Lin/Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, Esa-Pekka Salonen (Sony)

Today's Listening Pleasure:

In Memory of John Bonham who would have only been 55 today, May 31st.

Led Zeppelin Fest

Bonham was to Rock drumming what Max Roach was to Jazz drumming.
