I think the worst are those very hard, see-thru plastic ones that accompanied the Brian Eno CD re-releases. They were so tightly fitted that you had to cut them just to get access to the jewel box!

I agree with you about sound clips when it comes to this music. It's fullness comes from the way the pieces are fully constructed. Based on your interest in Hemingway, Braxton and Dutch jazz, I would definitely recommend these discs to you! I have my biases here because this is music that I grew up with - driving my family CrAzY (except for my mother). My mission, beginning in the early 70's, was to get my hands on every Nessa and ICP LP that I could and I'll forever be grateful to these guys for doing these recordings (and to Rose and Hegewisch Records and Earl McGhee, and Saul Smaizys, etc).

Every day I'm going thru some process of either recording from LP, cleaning it up, and/or selling it on eBay. I want access to it all, but it takes up so much d**n room that I would love to be able to mAgIcAlIfIcAlLy transform it all into one device (maybe 1 or 2 for backup?) - or just have it all online somewhere(?) We've gone thru this topic many times already tho - I think just last month? If you just check the archive, it should show up - the many pages - for you.
