  1. I was conversing with @Holy Ghost, and he'll take October. Looking forward to that!
  2. Random notes: 1 - The Muzak reissue of the Cowell has much bettet SQ than the DA/Black Lion. Also true for other Black Lion titles, and they use the original artwork. 2 - DA was onboard for the early CD era Black Lion reissues. 3 - I love the Freedom artwork, hate the Fontana drawing covers, find the Black Lion covers to be in-between. All personal taste. For instance, I consider Patrick Roques to have done even better Reid Miles covers than Reid Miles did.
  3. I have dozens of their sets. From experience, it will be a slimline double jewel case with an informative booklet and tray card, with an outer cardboard case to slip the jewel case into.
  4. PM sent on Mayall box.
  5. Per Wikipedia. Much of this is news to me, I always thought Freedom was the original company, and that Black Lion somehow just picked up the rights in the early CD era. This was fostered by the change in album covers, where I grew up with the Freedom covers, and the Black Lion CD's had all those (to me) inferior-looking black and white covers. "Freedom Records was a jazz record label headed by Shel Safran[1] and founded by Alan Bates as a division of Black Lion Records.[2] Individual recordings were distributed via Polydor Records and Transatlantic Records during the early 1970s before the company was bought by Arista Records with the imprint dubbed Arista/Freedom in 1975.[3]" Here is an example of the covers: And it actually looks like maybe neither of those was the original cover?:
  6. +1, but I am glad to have these for certain labels such as High Note/Savant,ignore these postings for most labels.
  7. Awaiting more Strata-East reissue news!
  8. Looks good! I have the Deram CD's Clouds and Tales and some sort of official gold CD-R of the first album, but glad to pick this up for the remastering and space savings. What label is this on? The design and concept look like BGO, but I don't see this listed on their upcoming releases on their website.
  9. +1 on all counts. Well said.
  10. Yep, great value for 17-18 year old me when I first bought them! Four and More - 28:30 + 25:32 = 54:02 My Funny Valentine - 29:53 + 33:00 = 62:53 In Europe - 30:40 + 30:14 = 60:54
  11. I'm with you. 'Four + More' is actually my most played Miles recording.
  12. And with Elvin Jones in many settings over several years!
