  1. I always peel them off and put them on the protection sleeve but never realized this makes me an idiot. I’ll think twice now for sure. About the OBI: I’ve always liked them and they definitely have some aesthetic appeal. I also associate them automatically with rare Japan only releases. I like to have them but it doesn’t prevent me from buying when it’s not present. It’s a nice extra
  2. It might not be in my user name but I am a Hutch Fan as well Dull weather here so finally some time to spin some records. Now spinning:
  3. Second time you've mentioned this in a positive way and you just made me order it My selections would be: Byard Lancaster - Complete Palm Recordings Pharoah Sanders - Pharoah Woody Shaw - Complete Columbia Albums I wanted to mention those great Coltrane Prestige boxes but they are pre 2010 I see now
  4. Just one question comes to mind. Why?
  5. Just overall bad quality of the sound and the backing instruments sound way too low in the mix. But you’re post confirms that’s its probably the streaming quality of the files on Spotify and not in the record itself. I have even stumbled on a track that skipped multiple times on Spotify a few months okay so it’s an occuring problem and probably the reason some people choose Tidal or Qobuz
  6. My thoughts exactly and most of the tracks are studio material. I thought maybe someone round here could confirm
  7. I was streaming this on Spotify and though I was enjoying the music a lot I was really annoyed by the bad sq. Was this recorded so badly or is this one of those Spotify mistakes? Anyone with the cd here to check?
  8. There’s nothing wrong with trying to get the best sound possible out of you’re speakers. In that extent I might be an audiophile too. I think the disdain is more directed at those more concerned with the sq than the actual music. And I don’t see you as one where that might be the case jazzbo 👍

    Dave Holland

I saw him with Anouar Brahem this year and it was magic. Same goes for his attributions to Brahems new album.
  10. Yeah I definitely agree. In my memory at least the tracks were complete where with the Shepp release they even cut them off. That really prevented me from getting it because that’s also a very interesting session.
  11. That’s not bol.com using those photographs this is the actual artwork used by the label…. I’ve got a part of this session on the Disques Transversales label which was legitimate and from the tapes. It’s one of my favorite Pharoah Sanders sessions so curious to hear the rest but if this is a bootleg I”ll pass.
  12. So is up for pre order on a Dutch website https://www.bol.com/nl/nl/p/pharoah-sanders-love-is-here-the-complete-paris-1975-ortf-recordings/9300000234054068/?bltgh=qLCFn-x5dVVkL-C6ZxxA0Q.i70GoxRfH3UDXsHI0iBGNw_0_9.13.ProductPageUrl Doesn’t look legit to me. Any idea if it could be?
  13. such a great band. I especially find the combination of Davis/Waldron/Woode a very strong one. Part from the Benedictine Monastery record they must have recorded more those days. Still hoping for new records to be issued…. Probably the only music for today. It’s gonna be a lovely 30/86 degree day here
  14. In the city of Gent I saw boxes with LP’s outside in full bright sunlight at 25 degrees Celsius (77 Fahrenheit)….
  15. Great haul!!! Now spend the rest of your salary at DG
