Game Of Thrones

That was a stunning battle sequence. Can't imagine how they can top that for sheer spectacle.

Yup.  Amazing.  (The show has in general gotten much better along all dimensions over the past few seasons.)

Loved seeing those cave paintings!

Watching X-Files Season 5 on blu-ray. I've never seen this season before. X-Files looks and sounds so good on blu-ray!

Finally decided to get Netflix.

Just finished viewing Happy Valley series one.  Some pretty good acting.

The first four episodes of Swedish Dicks on the POP network. A silly show, but I like it.

Yesterday, I watched the partial eclipse for a couple of minutes, then had to go back into a meeting.  Apparently, Buffalo gets a full eclipse in 2024 and Toronto will be 90-95%, so that will be cool.

Finally got around to watching the Luke Cage series on Netflix.  Although not up to the same level as Jessica Jones or Daredevil it's still a rewarding show with some great characters.  What I like best about these Netflix series is that each one has its own distinct vibe.

S3 is into the Cali cartel and is head and shoulders above the previous two Escobar seasons.

Gripping, compulsive viewing.:tup

BBC Strike   The Cuckoo's Calling Eps 1-3

Pretty good.

Nicely downbeat feel with two well cast, charismatic leads who come across as real people and not the standard cut & paste pretty posers.

The Deuce has the potential to be a great series.

Other series going at the moment.

Ballers, Dice and Ray Donovan. This season of Ray Donavan has been a let down thus far.

I can't wait for Curb Your Enthusiasm to start.

The Deuce Episode 1

Really well done.

How did they create such a convincing looking 70's NYC ?

Re Ray Donovan

I think we all get the domestic thread  without the drawn out flashbacks breaking up the rhythm of the story.

They might have filmed a wholly different storyline and then scrapped it. Not wanting to waste the footage they came up with the multiple flashback thing. It doesn't work.

You could be right about that. It's very choppy and distracting. The story line with Avi is also odd.

Well - that's Jane Campion for you. One person's dire is another person's "dark".

Re-watching Hannibal Season 3 on blu-ray, for the first time since broadcast. Tremendous television. Probably my favorite score for a show as well.

Episode five. I've been watching this daily all week.

The most interesting part is the footage from North Vietnam.

It would have been a truly bold move to have made the whole series from their point of view.
