  2. That first concert was Kiss at the Springfield Civic Center. Looking at the concert databases on line, I would guess it was Jan. 27, 1978. It was a fun concert but it also spoiled Gene Simmons' act for me. I sat next to the stage - like right beside it - and they didn't block my view of Simmons' staging area. I saw him stuff the fake blood packets into his cheeks before his did his "spit blood all over" act and I saw him get a mouthful of alcohol in his mouth before his spit flames. Seeing his prep work made it so hokey. It was more like a play than a concert.
  3. I decided to get me the Roy Brooks. I just love that record. Only had the 32 jazz cd version with the ugly art work. Just picked it up from my local record store. For now I could say the cover is done very, very nicely. Curious to hear how it sounds. I’m not really fond of how most Muse records sound, especially the bass sounds pretty strange on some of them. Will spin it tomorrow and check back in for those interested or on the fence to pick one up as well
  4. Amazing stuff. Herbie Nichols 🥰
  5. In that case, I'm going to fly you standby along with me for a bit to see what shakes out. You WILL have a 2026 BFT, that much I will guarantee. And thanks for bailing me out this year.
  6. Too bad. I was/am a bit young to be part of the KISS Army but from certain perspectives their thing was/is undeniable.
  7. Krin’s book is cool. He’s the uncle of a high school friend, so it was interesting to connect with him over the music.
  8. How good is the book? No shortage of Miles Davis books on my shelves.

  11. Lol yeah but that coach is on the hot seat and he's got to gamble on the rookie(s) in a desperate play to keep his job. Probably not going to work but whoever is their next HC they at least have a good defense to build from.
  12. The Browns really don't need another QB on their salary cap.

  14. Cold today, again. The dog is snoring in time to the music next to me on the listening chair–there is just enough room for us both. Starting with Carmen Staaf “Sounding Line” Sunnyside cd. Five pieces by Monk, five by Mary Lou Williams, and two originals.
  15. modern jazz quartet visiting john lennon's bed-in for peace in amsterdam late march 1969. at 9:30, lennon mentions seeing rahsaan roland kirk and listening to coltrane's ascension. https://archive.org/details/modern-jazz-quartet-visiting-john-lennons-bed-in-for-peace-in-amsterdam-march-1969 from 1969 documentary "Mr. & Mrs. Lennon's Honeymoon". https://www.beatlesonfilm.com/jl19690325a.html
