  1. Past hour
  2. Added to my Hawes collection today.
  3. I was going to make a post mentioning Ballads, but discovered—almost exactly three years earlier—I already did. Just listened to the album in full. Never a dull moment.

  5. Yesterday
  6. R.I.P. Saw him live once or twice, not my favourite music, but his performance was convincing.
  7. The comic strips from March 3, 2014, to September 6, 2015.
  8. Sad to hear this news. R.I.P.
  9. Enjoyed this so much yesterday that I'm giving it another spin today:
  10. Violinist Michael Urbaniak has died two days after a fall. He was 82. https://tvpworld.com/90673082/a-huge-loss-polish-jazz-legend-michal-urbaniak-dies-aged-82
  11. I think once upon a time I owned this. I'll look around and see if it's still here.
  12. Next up is a long time favorite in our house - The Carpenters "Christmas Portrait - The Special Edition". I've never managed to find a copy of the early version of this CD released in Germany in 1985 with the music as originally released before Richard Carpenter re-mixed them.
  13. My daughter's favorite Christmas artist is playing now... Her version of "Grown Up Christmas List" is probably the best one out there.
  14. The Byas is excellent indeed. But I wouldn't let this one pass forever. The Woody Herman V-Discs alone make this set invaluable. These are the best First Herd records with increadible Dave Tough. And, from what I hear the sound is better here than on the HEP set. The Basie's are also great and not readily available on CD. And, the Krupa Fish Market in good sound will be nice. Fun record! There are many other gems on this too....
  15. Received what may be the last one from Dusty Groove!!
  16. Malcolm Holcombe: Merry Christmas
  17. “Live at Birdland” ECM cd Lee Konitz, Brad Mehldau, Charlie Haden, Paul Motian Cool and a bit mesmerizing.
