  2. @Big Beat Steve: I don´t remember, do you know how much has happened this year, first my wife left me, then she died, I made a new record, I found a new love, I got diagnosis with bipolar disorder, I played a lotta gigs and had a lot of tears and a lot of happiness..... so, how could I remember what I posted or noticed before all those things happened 🤣
  3. FWIW - we didn't record either night in London (or indeed, any of the farewell tour, as far as I remember). That said, we've done many radio things in the past, including for the BBC, so there's certainly stuff in the archive! The farewell tour was really something - we finished last week in Athens, to a really fantastic audience...the band has been together for essentially 15 years at this point, so it's been a special couple of months!
  4. I got the set full-price 1-2 years after it was first released — and it was probably the very first non-Mosaic box set I ever bought. I think I only had 3 Mosaics at that point: the Hill, McLean, and Cherry boxes. That Henderson box is easily one of the top-10 jazz boxes I’ve owned — and maybe top-5 actually.
  5. I wasn't even vaguely thinking of Sooners, the OU I had confused was Ohio University. One of my nieces is attending there. Now Gregory Groover Jr.'s latest one, “Old Knew” on Criss Cross cd The title makes me think of my Dad, how I wish I could get his advice . . . he sure is missed. He knew . . . about anything I need knowledge of. Joel Ross is a great addition here. 8. Yes, probably to me in that huge exchange we had, thanks. I know it's not something I would have ever chosen to make an indvidual purchase of.

  12. I guess it's OSU. I care so little I can't get the name right.
  13. I will say that the CD was too much for me when I originally bought it, but I was glad I held onto it and slowly began to immerse myself in Takayanagi’s more extreme recordings. He was an absolute genius and a singular figure in creative music. I also think Abe never sounded better than on that album.
  14. It’s great music in my opinion ! I bought the reissue LP when it was released several years ago and let go of the CD (maybe to Mr. Felser?). The original is one of the rarest free improvisation albums out of Japan.
  15. Fleischhammer told he had to put the stock of his former distributor on sellout when this partnership ended. Maybe the Gullin was among them. It is the retailer who decides to put an album in the sales bin. He has to be careful not to risk his savings for retirement. Sonorama is not his only source of income and he puts out what he likes and considers overlooked and worth hearing. He has good connections to some radio archive people. I will pass this on.

Bout Soul seems to have a bad rep. I never understood why as I like it very much.
  17. Does Jazz Messengers even ship to the US now?

I've always thought the record with Ornette should be better known and more acclaimed. But it would have been nice if Ornette had played at least some alto on the album.
