DVD of "Thelonious Monk Straight No Chaser" 1/2 off
Holy Ghost replied to medjuck's topic in Re-issues
Extraordinary glimpse in the mind of one of a kind. Monk reminds me a lot of Glenn Gould. Undiagnosed, yet extremely gifted. This footage confirms he was a high-functioning autistic on the spectrum, yet still needed assistance, as his wife (Nelly?) still needed to set the table and put together his outfit every day; otherwise, he’d leave leaving the front door wide open only wearing a hat and a tie. -
WHERE CAN I BUY IT?!?! I'LL BUY THIS RIGHT NOW!!!! That's what I've read. Guess Jackie srapped the date because of Norman Conners. On the other hand, I have no problem, I am full speed ahead.

I highly recommend this (and the biography). And it's on YouTube for free. -
I've got the Joe Sullivan. PM me and I'll send it to you.

I bought this when it was released, wasn't impressed and forgot about it. During an ongoing Nimbus West / Tapscott binge, I pulled it off the shelf. Now I enjoy it and think it's pretty good.

Which Mosaic Are You Enjoying Right Now?
Dub Modal replied to Soulstation1's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
the Hank D'Amico tracks on CD2 are gold. D'Amico on clarinet was completely off my radar before. Those songs are tight. Keeping going on this one... -
