  5. Oh my God, what great music, and how much I LOVE PHAROAH SANDERS !!!! It seems that he is the artist who touches my soul most since last year, especially since I´m in love. But he has been always one of my favourites, now my foremost favourite. He is the musician, his is the music that moves my heart, I get that feeling of sublime happiness, like when you are in love, and at the same time brings tears of emotion into my eyes. Pharoah Sanders.......I love him. I am so glad I saw him often live when he walked on this planet....... I think we, who got his message, got his blessings........
  6. I assume the Miles CD is a bootleg? He is on a few tracks on the Newport box, correct?

    Archie Shepp

Joseph Orange lives in the DC area. We talk via Facebook a lot. I have only met him in person twice. Very nice guy.
  8. RIP. More sad news...lots of passings recently.
  9. RIP. Loved his work with Liebman in Lookout Farm and Pendulum.
  10. This is the gem I was not aware of until this series came out last year (I ordered it immediately then), apparently has never been released outside Japan in any form. Farmer/Jackie McLean/Cedar Walton/Sam Jones/Billy Higgins live in 1977? Yes, please!
  11. Prompted by another thread: OJC A desert island disc for this listener!

  13. This eagerly awaited set just arrived in US: Ordered this on the basis of forum recommendation:
  14. First release of archival material. Not a reissue, but this seems like the best place to post it.
  15. Great selection, and - along with the liner notes - a fine introduction into the rise of violin music in Italy in the 17th century.
  16. Besides the Blue Note LPs this is my favourite: This trio rocks!
  17. Richard Beirach: Elm. ECM Records ECM 1142 [Germany 1979]
  18. Ted Nash and his nephew Ted Nash, apparently. Who knew.
