  2. RIP. Prolific until recently and quite largely known in France beyond the jazz public.
  3. with John Surman, Kenny Kirkland & Jon Christensen
  4. Wow! “Stan Getz with European Friends” Denon Japan cd Good stuff!
  5. Tony Tuff's Wha we a go do Sly on drums (RIP). Amazing album that VP just reissued, digitizing it for the first time. Been a reggae fan for decades now and have never seen this one before. Better late than never.
  6. I am a Prime member and amazon works out well for me price wise.
  7. Very sad. Rest in peace to one of the last of the hero era.
  8. Been hot and cold with Ornette in the post Science Fiction years. Have not played this one in almost a decade. I'll break it out. NP

    Paul Whiteman

"He has the finest orchestra of its size I have ever heard. I have long been an admirer of his work." —Sergei Rachmaninoff, on Paul Whiteman 😮

  13. On the Storyville website is 20 euro's
  14. Leroy Smart's Musical Don: https://leroysmart.bandcamp.com/album/musical-don From '88. Recently remastered by Crucial Bunny. Steely & Clevie involved, as was Jackie Mittoo. Unexpected quality on this one. Definitely recommend if you dig reggae and don't mind/enjoy that 80s Jamaican sound.
  15. Hey all.. came across these being listed on Bandcamp and a few other places. I thought I'd share the info. I ordered a copy of the Jamal, Lateef and Henderson on importcds (a little cheaper). The Petrucciani (frustratingly) appears to only be a European release. Any thoughts about any of these? https://yuseflateeflive.bandcamp.com/album/alight-upon-the-lake-live-at-the-jazz-showcase https://ahmadjamallive.bandcamp.com/album/at-the-jazz-showcase-live-in-chicago https://joehendersonlive.bandcamp.com/album/consonance-live-at-the-jazz-showcase https://malwaldronlive.bandcamp.com/album/stardust-starlight-live-at-the-jazz-showcase https://www.elemental-music.com/jazz-treasures/4942--michel-petrucciani-kuumbwa-8435395505113.html
  16. Thanks 🍻 Looks like a great price.
  17. I've had good luck with import CDs. Looks like they have it available for pre-order: https://www.importcds.com/copenhagen-1964/717101854523
  18. Thanks guys. Makes me wish they could include those liners in their downloads then. Any recs for shopping their CDs online?
  19. Sorry to hear this news. R.I.P.
  20. Martial Solal, Lee Konitz, John Scofield, NHØP - Four Keys (MPS/PAUSA, 1979)
  21. It's quite good. Not at all expensive at amazon.
  22. This is exciting! Storyville is a first-class operation. So, yes, this new release should have liner notes & discographical details.
  23. The most recent ones I've purchased (online) had adequate/decent liners.
