  1. Past hour
  2. Nice. I didn't realize it was a remake. The entire album smokes. John Hicks on keys btw. He is amazing on this record.
  3. Vastly superior remake compared to the original on 'Infinity Is'
  4. Today
  5. There is a Chicago connection on track 5.
  6. Artie Shaw “The Last Recordings Rare & Unreleased” Music Masters 2 cd set, disc 1
  7. Spot on! There 'tis. Tracks 1, 7, 8, 10 & 11 are now fully ID'd. And that's Houston Person on sax for the Kynard track.
  8. Duke Ellington “1941” Smithsonian 2 LP set, LP 1 Some of the great Ellington music of this period. In killer mastering.
  9. The free jazz section: 3. Hyper-Aylerism, almost Brotzmann-esque. Sounds familiar to me but I don't id yet. 5. More contemporary vibes, maybe Chicago school post-Vandermark? 6. Disoriented, no idea who is.
  10. On to “Jack Teagarden” Verve stereo LP Great sounding disc!
  11. Going to be warmer and drier this afternoon–looking forward to that as I have some driving to do. Starting the day off with John Mayall “USA Union” from the big box set. 500×496 93.5 KB
  12. Well, they must have chanbged that recently, it was showing earlier last week and I got a shipping notice yesterday for my pre-order.
  13. 1-5 to start the season, Crochet can't even help them, reverse image of the mf-ing Yankees and it really SUCKS to say NO BASEBALL til further notice on fucking April 2nd.
  14. 👍- copy from 1974 - JCOA Records JT 4001 - on my shelf ...
  15. estimated date of CD release listed as approx April 13 (from Lost website)
  16. Well, life won't end without it.
  17. Well!
  18. 7. "This side of infinity" from Sonny Fortune "From now on". 10. "Odds on" from Charles Kynard "Afro-Disiac".
  19. $64 shipped is a bit much.
  20. Really glad y'all are enjoying track 5. I think it will get ID'd at some point.
  21. Now that I'm on a real keyboard, I can respond better. Typing on the phone isn't my fave. Randy, my responses in red above. Well, you got track one ID'd fully. Not Jarman/Moye on 3, nor Sonny Simmons on 5. Sonny Fortune as well on 7, and you got the band on 8. That Coleman Hawkins Mosaic is a treasure trove and I don't even have the whole damn thing. Best partial box set I've ever bought. I had no conscious theme behind placing tracks 8 & 9 together, so whatever it is, it's pure serendipity. You also got Grant Green on guitar for track 10. And that Hartman tune comes again due to Mosaic. That Beehive set has been a favorite of mine and this album was a really pleasant surprise. Not Reuben, but it is indeed funky. Yeah this BFT is all over the place for sure. I worried a little about the sequencing but (maybe thankfully) I didn't have time to fuss over it too much. Glad you found some stuff to enjoy! Not Hemphill or Wadud on 2, nor AEC on 3. Not Dewey on 5. Glad you love #7. JSngry ID'd Sonny Fortune but not the song/album. And you ID'd 11 as well. I had no idea it was on that Madison County soundtrack. I've never seen the film, but Eastwood being a jazz lover I'm not surprised.
  22. ha! I was one row behind you probably a few feet to your right.
