What vinyl are you spinning right now??

I hadn't spun this in a while, so I have it playing now. The music is really good but the audio has that overly-bright/lousy bass recording that you get sometimes from recordings made in the late 70s/early 80s. The bass sounds particularly whiny here. It's too bad because Joe is really something.

I don't have Drum Fusion or Transfusion or A Different Journey. More for the list. I do have The Chico Hamilton Special -- but Lloyd didn't contribute any compositions to that date.
-
I'm just about to embark on one of Macdonald's novels in the set that Library of America devoted to him. Currently finishing this: ... and about to start this:
- Today
-
Hermeto Pascoal e Grupo “Live at Planetário da Gávea”
-
Thank you! It was a nice mellow one.
-
Hopefully you have the other Hamilton records with Lloyd. Same thing there, only not nearly all. It's ALL. Except, of course, for the standards, where there are any.
-
Next up: Chico Hamilton - Passin' Thru / Man from Two Worlds (Impulse, rec. 1962-63) Until recently, I didn't realize that Charles Lloyd composed nearly all of the music on these 2 LPs.
-
Hmm. I've never noticed that. I have the 32 Jazz CD reissue that looks like this:
-
Paul Bley Quintet: Barrage: ESP-Disk' / ZYX Music ESP 1008-2 [Germany s.d.] Personnel: Dewey Johnson (tp), Marshall Allen (as), Paul Bley (p), Eddie Gomes (b), Milford Graves (dr) All compositions by Carla Bley

Yea it’s great! I do think Clifford’s a bit far down in the mix or is that my French pressing?
