Emanem label - any movement on website & orders
clifford_thornton replied to romualdo's topic in Discography
yes, agreed. Without those bigger names selling at a decent pace, we wouldn't have had three CDs worth of People Band, Inaudible Collectif, George Khan archival material, Charlotte Hug, Sylvia Hallett, a particularly hairy solo Fred Lonberg-Holm CD, or any number of other things. -
I have decided to keep this listed until Friday, October 17. Thanks. The Blue Note Stanley Turrentine Quintet/Sextet Studio Sessions 5 CD, Mosaic, 2002 Limited Edition of 5000 numbered copies (this is copy # 3065). Everything is in excellent condition - outer box, CDs, jewel cases, large booklet. There is just some very minor rubbing to about a 1/4" piece of the mid left side edge of the front cover paste-on photo. I had not even noticed that until now but wanted to mention any minor issue at all. It is a nice copy. $69 (+ $10 media mail shipping). U.S. shipping only. Payment by pay pal friends/family. I will pack this carefully (wrapped in bubble wrap), ship it in a sturdy box, and provide a postal tracking # after shipping.

It's Gloomy and Doomy and Just Goes On and On

I read this thread title and I assumed that it was a commentary on the state of our world & country. -
What rock music are you listening to? Non-Jazz, Non-Classical.

Earlier today, I got tickets to see RUSH -- less Neil Peart, of course -- in August 2026 in Toronto. - Today

The big name stuff is important work, but there's also so many more obscure titles worth investigating that really provide a snapshot of free improvisation at a point in time. And he was generous enough to discount these titles to very low prices to where you could investigate a lot of stuff you may not have had the mettle for at full price. A whole other can of worms there, but it's something I've often wished other prolific labels in this space might do with their back catalogs as well.

That's one of those songs on which I would always switch the radio. -
If you buy a used set, Zev doesn't profit from you. Somebody else has already taken care of that for you. 👁️🗨️

The OTC box is my favorite of the ones that I own.

Hartmut Geerken/Michael Ranta - The Heliopolar Egg (5 CD)

PM replied. This is now sold! Thank you! -
Nice CD. I haven't played it in a long time. I haven't seen her play live in a long time either. I hope she's still playing. Her website hasn't been updated since 2016. I know she had a rough time of it about 20 years when she had to overcome breast cancer.

I also waited years to get this at a reasonable price. As far as lack of availability of Miles sets, I've never understood why the On The Corner box was not reprinted to meet the demand.
-
-
Me too, outside of the crazy jagged-geometrical layout for the booklet notes--a style that iirc was in vogue for a number of box set releases in the mid-1990s.
-
I must've glossed over the LITA box if it was noted in this thread. Interesting.
-
+1, depends on price point and reviews on how much of an improvement it is. I like the 1995 box.
-
I never picked up the Resonance set because a) Zev turns me off and b) I have the Douglas/FM LPs and Other Aspects, but reading this thread, I probably should.
-
I didn't realize Light in the Attic was doing a CD version of this set as well. On the fence about upgrading from the 1995 box--in the meantime this thread has inspired me to start revisiting it. Oh hey look, it's lunch time! 😉

I keep telling myself I'm going to delve into the Dream Syndicate and Steve Wynn at some point, yet all I've done is listen to the Baseball Project. I need to rectify that. np: Speed of the Stars -
