Ann and I decided to skip Big Ears (a fantastic event) this year to go the San Fransisco for Roscoe Mitchell's NEA Jazz Master event and then spend a couple of weeks exploring the state. We have now cancelled the trip. Everyone has been cool except Delta airlines.
During that period Verve had a bunch of albums featuring that big band bunch and I had most of them in college - Gary McFarland, Bob Brookmeyer included. I currently have those two coupled on one cd and the Brown coupled with a Brown/Bags date.
From 1967 - 1975 I worked for Discount Records - Chicago - Bloomington, Madison, Boston. A number of friends here bought music from me. Even more on Facebook.
Discount was originally an East Coast operation moving West. Tower was a West Coast operation moving East.
