  1. Ann, my wife was born in early January and is saddled with Bing's White Christmas.
  2. Possibly Richard Carpenter. ;-) The 2 disc Bethlehem Archives set says it is by Al Cohn.
  3. I Love You by Bing Crosby
  4. I believe the two discs are from different events - disc one (sans Moye) October 5, 1969 and disc two August 13, 1970.
  5. Jim Baker.
  6. Guy Lafitte should be much better known in the States. At one point I attempted a Lafitte/Eddie Johnson date but....
  7. Gotta say "an aggressive West Coast vibe" reads like a Dusty Groove review.
  8. where it hopes to find an audience.
  9. On the other hand, How many of those folks wanted to take the chance of being dropped from the Verve/Pablo bandwagon. Money does wonders to adapt opinions.
  10. Lots of interesting posts and very little discussion about different styles/tools used by producers. Maybe some misunderstandings of terms.
  11. I think it might be a Maine / Canada rivalry.
  12. Sometimes OP drives me nuts, other times he is ok. "Sometimes you feel like a nut, other times you don't." When NHOP introduced me to him, he was a prince.
  13. I'm not talking about Kampen! I am talking about the new release on the way.
  14. The Bradford / Gjerstad is from the tour that produced Silver Cornet. It is good. It was recorded in Philadelphia a day or two before Silver Cornet.
  15. I should have mentioned Lester Koenig as the stealth "artist" producer.
  16. Alfred Lion, Creed Taylor and Manfred Eicher all made "signature" recordings. Rudy was not a producer but an exquisite tool to be used by producers back in the day.
  17. Too bad they don't have the nerve to issue interesting packages of folks like Eager, Byas and Brew Moore. Much other material to be mined.
  18. Now moving on to test pressings of this:
  19. He was horrible. Never saw his approach.
  20. They are in the box.
  21. I didn't but as that's the only one I've bought so far, that's really too bad! Lousy job! The second track is the rhythm section without horns.
  22. Exit Bob Porter.
