    Robert Johnson

Mitch was not in control when any of those folks recorded and not when Robert Johnson was reissued. I knew Don Kent a bit back in those old JRM days - horn rimmed glasses, hair straight back, plaid shirt and low riding jeans.
  6. Those titles are on the Verve cd Flurin pictured above.
  7. Nice butt but the music never engaged me.
  8. Well................OK, then. But I still think they were a lousy format. I'm fine with CDs and would never buy vinyl again. Mainly because I have no room for LPs or shelf space for a turntable, but also because I don't miss having to turn over (or change) an album every 20 minutes. I worked both retail and wholesale through the '80s and the cassette sales were completely dominated by the "hot 100". In all other sections of the music biz vinyl killed. In the catalog stores, vinyl outsold cassettes at least 10 to 1. For indie music it was about the same.
  9. Though not an Ornette composition or program, on August 10, 1966 Roscoe Mitchell recorded a composition titled Ornette.
  10. Not sure they will let me do that and not sure how much room I will have in the luggage. So, the answer is maybe.
  11. Quarters always work.
  12. Not certain if it was issued at the time but by the '60s the master tapes were in the hands of Migliori.
  13. We have another member.
  14. The fence is still standing so we can't be missing many posts.
  15. Welcome to old fartdom.
  16. Maybe you could send some Greek drachmas.
  17. Rudy mentioned to me that Coltrane, Dolphy and Desmond were "special artists" as if he was in awe of their talent.
  18. David and I went back to Discount Records in Madison - 1970-73 I think.
  19. 2nd hand from Wadada tonight. He said a daughter was there and highlights were Threadgill/Moran, Cecil, Savion Glover/Jack DeJohnette and Ravi Coltrane.
  20. Had a few individual discs but didn't know the box existed. Got it for about $30.
