The early Verve sessions with OP are wonderful. The Mosaic box contains them. I had an occasional personal/professional relationship with him during his last 15 years . What a great spirit. I am wearing a belt buckle right now he secured for me. Love Roy.

I used to have this on a Crown lp. It is from a Gene Norman concert and must be available elsewhere.

I won't buy anything directly from them because of the impossible customer service. I will continue to buy from the via Amazon.

Ann and I were at Hallwalls as well, next to last row stage left. To bad we couldn't connect, unless you preferred not. No disagreement with your review of the show. This was my first time hearing this trio but have heard all members in different situations. I think the concert was good but Brotz blew me away the last time I encountered him (at Hallwalls with Joe McPhee) so it was a bit of a let down for me personally. Glad you liked the show.

How about choosing a composer and selecting a bunch of different folks to do the arrangements?

We now have stock of our August 19 releases. These are our Ira Sullivan sessions and the reissue of Hal Russell's NRG Ensemble + Charles Tyler. The Sullivan has been remixed from the original masters in 24 bit and includes a nice bonus track. The Russell has been remastered in 24 bit and we have added 2 bonus tracks to complete the "audition tape" partially issued on our last NRG release. Unfortunately we are leaving in the morning for a week with the grand kids in Buffalo. We will be back on June 16, ready to ship any orders in house. I will have internet access the whole time (except the 4 hours crossing Ontario - each way) so questions are fine. Looking forward to hearing the Brotzmann, Parker and Drake trio in Buffalo. Isn't more fun to listen to music when there are still unresolved questions than when we already know all the answers - that would be like watching the same episode of Jeopardy back-to-back....or like listening to Oscar Peterson.....what's the point? Great post. Thanks.

I like Hamid a bunch. I wonder about Parker. I have lots of admiration and questions about Peter. That's the way I roll after 50 years of listening to this stuff, and paying money for some of it. Enjoy what you enjoy.
