  1. Not necessarily true. Back in the day it was hard for some folks to see a difference between Miles and Grand Funk. That link was desired by Miles and Clive Davis and they wanted to exploit it. Some folks are still parsing the details.
  2. If you don't have them, get Kansas City Sessions and Complete Keynote.
  3. The Barron, Rouse, Harris and 2nd Dameronia titles are available and are on the Uptown site.

  5. Little of this matters. It is about "music"(for me - others have different agendas) and Ms Spalding is making a career by riding on the backs of hundreds of others. I'm sure she will do well. I hope she does well.
  6. Not as good as "farts by Art" but I could not find pics.

  14. The Shearing Quintet was the first "name" group I experienced "in person" back in the '50s. G'bye George.
  15. I was reminded of JR Monterose telling me he used to run into Roy in the kid's department of Macy's while shopping for clothes. Really.
  16. Jim, watch your email box - your pm box must be filled - or I am blocked.
  17. She's no Slam Stewart. Look for her to lose the bass in the future. "What's her hand doing?" It's looking for a pocket. A star is being born.
